Please pardon the necro, but I asked a vet about this. Some time later he got back to me, having changed his assessment of the situation:

In Illinois, it would be legal for a vet to do that it if a human surgeon was supervising.

I suggested that an "advanced practice veterinarian" license could be created so that properly trained veterinarians could treat humans - in emergencies, providing trauma care, but more specifically focusing on zoonotic diseases with which they have more experience than most GPs.

I talked to my local vet about castrations. He got alarmed at first that I was gonna ask him to cut mine off. But once I explained how he had way more cutting experience with different animals and knew the insides of our sacks n balls far better than any dr, he calmed down and we had a long talk and how he does his castrations and the details of bag n ball anatomy n cutting them off. He knew more than human drs by far n was willing to talk n share his knowledge and ideas way more than human drs will. Experience shows. Vets beat drs every time on how many castrations they do and what they know about cutting balls off.

I'm sure that story starts with, "Dear Playboy, You won't believe what happened to me..."

This would still be "practicing medicine without a license" regardless of of a good or a bad outcome.

That puts both parties at risk -- one by committing a crime and the other by soliciting a crime.

Yes, that s right. But the reality is vets do way more animal castrations than human drs ever do on men. Who knows more and has more experience in doing it? Plus vets usually aren t as prissy, afraid, and or arrogant about handling a man s balls as most drs seem to be. Real men would do better being cut by a vet with the right attitude than a human dr who knows less and doesn t enjoy doing the job as much. A lot of human drs know very little about testicles at all. Surprisingly little considering the men have their own pairs hanging all their lives and never seem to pay attention, get curious, study their own, or learn much about testicles. It makes you wonder how much they really know and what they do know? Women urologists seem to know even less about men s balls. At least vets know testicles really in depth and handle lots of them daily.
