OK, I can see that I am "way out of my league" in any intellectual discussion with the educated heavyweights like Beau Geste and Jesus, but I feel strongly that what little observations I have made might contribute to this conversation. So I invite you all to look and see the same things, maybe you will come to the same conclusions.

FIRST, just look at the male human body, look at most (not all but most) male mammals, the testicles are outside the body. Regardless of which theory of creation you belive in (divine creation, evolution, or "intelligent design" or whatever strikes your fancy) you cannot deny that the males of almost all mammal species, and especially humans, seem to be made with a castration option in the innate design. To quote the GEICO commercial, "Its so easy a caveman could do it!" Well, that is what I think when I look at the male body of almost every mammal, the castration option is clearly there, the testicles are out there and available for modification of the male to a eunuch, and I am totally certain that even a "caveman" innately KNEW, that those testicles had a certain influence on the behavior of the male. How can I be so sure that they knew it? That takes me to my second observation.

SECOND, as Francis just pointed out "
Francis (imported) wrote: Mon Nov 05, 2007 7:19 pm On the subject of the origin of castration, it is interesting to note that in the battles of the dominant males of many primates, gorillas and chimpanzees included, the winner will attack and destroy the testicles of the loser in many cases thus forever removing the individual as a breeding competitor....
" Even animals go for the balls of their opponent in combat. Growing up around livestock, I remember what a shock I got when I learned that male horses (stallions) will attempt to castrate one another when they fight, they literally bite the balls off their opponent. I wondered a lot about this when I was a kid: "Just how does that dumb animal know to go for the balls of another stallion when they get in a fight with one?" The stallion KNOWS, innately, nobody sent him to med school, he knows what those balls do because he has a pair of them himself. Again, whatever theory you believe in (creationism or evolution) you must acknowledge the clear purpose and even the advantage in this seeming weakness of the males, in having the testicles OUT THERE so that the loser in the fight can be removed from the gene pool without actually killing him. Even horses, and certainly primates know this, and they all act upon this knowledge.

THIRD, and finally, I believe that for too long, we "modern people" have been guilty of a sort of intellectual arrogance, we stupidly assume that since the primitive people had no surviving written language (that we are aware of), they must have functioned on a mental level of a three or four year old child of today. Well that is wrong, very very wrong. Primitive people, without benefit of written language, managed to survive in a pretty harsh environment, and they KNEW many things, they figured out many things that would stump a "brilliant" engineer of today - (Would you know how to make a spear or an atlatl, with the stone point, that could get you something to eat... WITHOUT using any modern tools? Could you tan the hide of any animal you were able to kill - again, without any modern tools or chemicals?) Primitive people clearly had some methods of preserving and passing on their knowledge or the human race could never have survived.

I know, that in the backdrop of the postings by the educated heavyweights here, my observations must seem almost like childish babble. And I do not have the scientific evidence to "prove my theory" just that innate feeling, that I just know it, but I don't exactly know how I came to "just know it." I think that maybe I should point out that it is a primitive and innate knowledge that tells even the primitive animals just what the testicles do, and just how easily they can be removed, they "just know it" but nobody could explain just how they came to "just know it."
