Ousterhout is considered the top option. But the standard rules about getting the best apply, meaning he is quite expensive. I believe "the works" run about $50,000. There are cheaper options, but you may be dealing with lesser quality. I think part of it depends on how aggressive the work you need would need to be. O is known for being the most aggressive FFS surgeon out there. If your face is not extremely masculine, you would probably be OK with a different doctor. But if you did happen to have a very masculine face, I would not go with anyone other than O (and I do, so I should know :P).

You, on the other hand, do not have an overly masculine face from what I saw on the documentary. There might be some minor work that could help, but I'd give 2 years of high-dose hormones a chance before making a final decision on FFS.

Breasts are not enough to make someone think you are a woman. There are plenty of men with full breasts out there, and they are clearly men with breasts. Now, you still might desire to cover them up because of the possible social awkwardness they could cause, but that awkwardness would be because you are a man with breasts, not because people believe you are a woman dressed as a man.

The same goes for E. Most men could take E and live as men indefinitely. The only exceptions are perhaps those with a slight frame and feminine facial structure who start E early. But for most genetic males taking E is not going to be enough to make people believe you are a woman. The other necessary things include dressing as a woman, having your hair like a woman, talking like a woman, walking like a woman, and in some cases facial work is necessary as well.

I wonder how hard it would be to get the operation(s) financed. Just like any other loan?

I'm just gonna guess no. Reposession would be a real bitch. (Although a good EA story, potentially)

My guess is that's what a lien (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lien) is for. So you give your creditor a lien on, say, your house. Should you not be able to pay, your house gets (partially) reposessed.

Another option would be to undergo the procedure in Thailand, which is typically much cheaper (even with traveling and hotel costs included).

I've heard about this guy and the rumor is that he could be Os replacement someday. He sounds promising. And from what I understand he is cheaper than O at this time.

Yes, you can finance this the same way you'd finance anything else (such as with a personal loan or credit cards if you have enough of a line). Some surgeons even accept financing, meaning you can apply for a loan directly through their finance company.

Guess I better haul ass in getting the student loans, etc paid off within a year so I can apply for a makeover...

I do miss being debt free. The old saying of the more you make, the more you spend is too damn true! Just dont use your credit...
