So, your problems REALLY began when you sought professional medical help in a certified hospital?
Yes,it would seem to be that way. --FLO--

It may be that the Dai Ma may have quite a bit of training going back a few millenia (as their civilization does) and have the knowledge on how to prepare a few recipes for anesthesia, preventing blood loss at the outset, preventing nausea and diarrhea, promoting quick skin healing, and some antisceptic, plus how to sharpen a razor sharp knife and a little bit of stitching.

While I believe that amatuer cutters are dangerous to use, if followed up with a professional it is in most cases quite survivable.

There have been more than fifteen hundred views of this thread, which means that, probably, at least a hundred and fifty people read most or all of the posts--and nobody has cited a single verified instance of an individual expiring because of a botched orchiectomy. I think there must be examples of persons dying from that reason, but it's striking that nobody can locate a verifiable record of a fatality resulting from a cutter's activities. I would guess there must even be men who bled to death after their wives or girlfriends decided that they'd had enough and attacked that portion of the body with a butcher knife.
Seems strange that there seem to be no reports of hijras dying in India as a result of poorly performed genital surgeries--considering the number of individuals operated on by amateurs there, it's a statistical certainty that some of them don't survive the surgery for one reason or another.

Not correct. While I did not give chapter and verse with news cites, I gave you at least one incident in post 3 above, occuring in Pennsylvania 4-5 years ago, and which made international news. Do a search. Right now, I don't have the time to do so

Kristoff--
You were a little off on the date, but otherwise had the facts reasonably in order. Didn't take as much of a search as I thought it would.

This is another one, only a couple of months ago.

That one appears not to have been a consensual orchiectomy--not even sure that the genital surgery was what killed him. It seems unlikely that the woman was a cutter.
