New Academic Articles on Eunuchs

I got the articles from Jesus and found them remarkably balanced, which is more than I expected . I'm a scientist by training, so I was very pleased by the methods of the study. When the survey was posted, I participated as a 'wannabe' eunuch. That's still my state today. I'll post more on the articles when I have a chance to put my thoughts together.

I'm thinking about trying Androcur again. I took it for about two weeks before and noticed some effect within the first week, which I attribute to the initial high dose I was taking (200 mg/day). I'm able to put aside the idea of becoming a eunuch for short periods, but it keeps coming back. I feel like I'm rambling here, so I guess I'm not looking for advice. Reading the articles Jesus sent on the survey results drove home for me that what I'm really seeking is emasculation. For some reason, I was reluctant to admit that before. It wasn't until I was in my 40's that I was able to admit that I'm gay. Now it seems like another major hurdle to admit I'm a eunuch, or at the least body dysphoric and wanting to be rid of my balls. Sorry, I don't really know where to put this post.

Some folks have been inquiring lately about some of the results of the second eunuch survey (technically the 3rd if you count the one by Farrel Squire about 10-12 years ago). One can still get PDFs.

So far there have been THREE surveys of the Eunuch Archive community. There have been a number of publications resulting from these surveys, some of which are available in PDF format for any EA member who requests them. I have indicated the available ones with a red PDF at the end of the relevant listing. To request any of the available articles, send me a <Private Message> indicating which article(s) you want and an email address that will accept attachments (the EA server does not).

The first survey was by long-time member Farrell Squire. It was posted on 30 different Internet discussion groups involving castration and/or eunuchs between May and September 2002. It had 134 replies, including 30 from individuals who were already castrated. One publication resulted from that survey, although Farrell Squire did not live long enough to see it in print:

The second survey was posted on the Eunuch Archive for three months from February 20 to May 20, 2005. It had a total of 902 respondents, of whom 92 were surgically castrated and 43 chemically castrated. Four papers resulted from that survey and PDF copies are available on request:

A third survey of over 500 questions was posted on the Eunuch Archive for four months in 2008. There were over 3,000 respondents to the survey and analysis and publication are still going on, though we are nearly finished with it.
