I just can’t get my head around this….

For me, Matt will always be that vital young person who so proudly showed off his incredible patriotic tattoos at the East Coast gathering. He will be that ray of sun who illuminated the Portland gathering. My memories of him will be of very brief times spent together, but they were wonderful times.

My sympathies are with all who loved Matt and who cared deeply for him.

all i can say is DAMN. just puts life in a more meaningful perspective. i have only chatted with LP for the last 10 years. met him last year in portland and this is totally shocking. if i needed another excuse for a bad day, this would definently be it.

Bobby, Big hugs from one huge amphibian. please hug OBB for me too. i will fax you both a couple cases of Jesus' best as soon as i get ahold of him. this is a bad day indeed.

I'm so deeply saddened by this news, 😢

However he is definitely in a better place now.

I'm dumbfounded by this news.

I really don't know what else to say.

words are hard at times like this.....and i know each and everyone of the regulars here has been touched in someway by Matt(luvpain) at somestage or another i for one would not be here today if it was not for the kind words he and others had for his friends.

This is a poem that has helped me through the loss of friends and loved one and i hope it helps others here to ease the passing of a great and much loved person.

Death is Nothing at all

Death is nothing at all

I have only slipped away into the next room

I am I and you are you

whatever we were to each other

that we still are

call me by my old familiar name

speak to me in the easy way

which you always used

put no difference in your tone

wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow

laugh as we always laughed

at the little jokes we enjoyed together

pray smile, think of me, pray for me

Let my name be ever the household word

that it always was

Let it be spoken without effort

without the trace of a shadow in it

Life means all that it ever meant

it is the same as it ever was

there is unbroken continuity

why should I be out of mind

because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you

somewhere very near

just around the corner

All is well

Henry Scott Holland

(1847-1918) Canon of St Paul's Cathedral

Personal from me Matt i know you will be reading this and will not be suffering anymore a HUGE THANK YOU and i send your and your family my love at this sad time

xxx

I am not sure what to say, shock, crushed, deflated comes to mind. My heart goes out to his family, the one in Detroit and the one in Milwaukee, Bobbie, OBB, I can't imagine what you have been going through today and you know that we are all here for support. If you would tell Matt's folks how deeply sorry we all are. Now I will go and continue that good cry, I understand it is suppose to help.

What a tragic loss, my prayers for his friends and family.

I didn't know him either, but I'm sure he was a good person.

I'm sure he is in a better place.
