if you are wanting castration THAT bad contact http://www.o-r-r.com/ they are liscenced doctors who perform Orchiecomies. I don't want to hear some BS about them being far away I flew 3000+ miles each way to get my castration done by Dr. Kimmel

You're too far away. I will not attend your funeral. Besides I've already done two in the last 10 days. Enough.

Ok, ok. You are all right. It is dangerous. Everyone must be careful. Things can get out of control. Shit happens.

BUT: Shit obviousely happened also to patients of Dr. Kimmel - if I did not misinterpret some messages here. Tanglogs method wasn´t really more sophisticated, was it? And Philipp´s way to get rid of his first one either wasn´t.

I think so far we agree.

But you misunderstood me, when you believe I would buy a Henderson tool - constructed for bulls and horses!!! - to get MY eggs off. I was thinking about the METHOD OF DRILLING the cord as a good alternative to REDUCE the risk of infection and bleeding and remaining parts of cord after extraction.

The HOW and WHERE and WHO are other aspects of thinking about the hole procedure.

Ok, I admit that I´m also not sooo happy with the idea of entering a vet´s pet-praxis saying: "Oops I forgot to bring my dog - could you castrate me instead?" :-)

All what I did in this thread was brainstorming and your concerns about safety are completely right! But to tell each other what could get wrong will not help us to get rid of our nuts, will it?

For example: Last year I went to Hungary to have my eyes laser-treated to get rid of my glasses. Everyone told me that I must be a complete fool to go there. BUT: I´ve never seen such a perfect praxis and so competent and confidence inspiring clerks in Germany. Now I can see like an eagle and am completely satisfied. I know there are other examples, but what I want to say is: Life is risky. One have to find the middle between fool and chicken.

Read Tanglog´s story: completely foolish - but he succeeded. When he´d have taken your arguments to heart he still would own his eggs... (Tanglog, you are my hero!)

Just a word to the vets: They studied medicine as well, and don´t believe human anatomy would be sooo different to beast´s. And in the point of castration I would have more confidence to a vet, who does it almost every day (and may it be to animals!) then to a human doc, who does it once or twice in his life... (Thats an argument for Dr. Kimmel)

I'm sorry Hape,

I'm really not trying to criticize you. I just don't want to see any one get hurt. Tanglog did what he did out of desperation. I am so glad he didn't die. We don't know how many people weren't as lucky. I have also done desperate things. So I know how things can seems like a good idea at the time and then later it turns out to be a bad idea.

No Jemagirl, I am sorry. You are completely right. No one should be forced to do silly things out of desperation. And live is nothing to play with. I think we agree, that this forum here is a way to inform each other and to think together about the best ways having "it" done. When I have given you the impression to make propaganda for foolish things I apologise.

(I´m thinking about philipps proposal with the belgian clinic, but its really lot of money, about 2000 $ an austrian castrate told me)

It is a hell of a lot cheaper than trips to the Emergency Room, Ambulance fees, doctor's surgery charges, stay in the psych ward etc. I would imagine where you are that would be subsidized. In the US, it would cost $20,000 or more as I recall past figures.

It has been said many time before on this forum, but I guess it needs to be repeated from time to time.

If a man absolutely positively insists on getting castrated, there is one and ONLY ONE safe way to do it. That is to have it done by a surgeon in a medical setting like a hospital. To do it any other way is only asking for trouble, often a lot of trouble, sometimes even death.

If any man is considering having it done any other way than by a surgeon in a hospital I have one word for them. DON'T!
