Dear Charis,

Girl you're never too old to follow your dreams and while there could possibly be some limitations as to the amount of feminization you will achieve on HRT, I wouldn't let that get in the way.

I started my transition 15 months ago at the age of 51 and never gave a second thought to my age. For a lot of us TG girls, it takes this long to finally build the courage, or frustration, to act on something we have felt and known our entire lives.

So let your heart lead you and do what you feel is best for you. You only get one go at it in this world so make the most of it! ;)

Hi Charis,

i'm guy from Bavaria/Germany, 55 y old and a eunuch since 3 years. Until now i never had any regrets because of this 'final step'.

I think you are not at all too old - more important than your years of age is the time, how long and how serious you have thought about beeing castrated. You must be absolutely sure, that you want this and nothing else.

If you are ....do it!

I wish you all the very best and hope to hear what you do.

Hugs teegee

Hi Charis,

Your never too old to follow your dream, it is important that you are in good health and that you do not have a medical condition which would hinder good healing, another issue is that your anatomy is ok, ie, you equipment has not been damaged so as to cause leisions this can also be a cause of concern. Having said all that it is adviseabell to try chemical castration first just in case you change your mind, as you know the traditional, method of cutting out the nodes is final, there is no way back so be sure, if you have considered these issues with understanding and you are happy well get it done properly by a surgeon and not by a cutter so you will live to enoy the results of your dream. Hello Charis,

It's never really too late make the change. It is relatively true though that the younger one starts the better the results. As some have mentioned, there are family and friends to consider, as well as holding a job (unless you are retired). What will matter most is the way you feel about yourself. Will you be able to accept yourself and live as the opposite gender if the proccess has little effect on you?

Then again, there is always surgical intervention. You can get facial feminization surgery as well as breast augmentation, if you can afford it.

I had a fellow worker that transitioned at 60. Made a respectable looking woman, but she tends to dress like a hot 40 year old. I guess she is trying to make up for lost time. The transition was rough on the family. There was the usual devorce, the troulbe with the children and the grand kids call her, "Grand it". The people at work were on pins and needles thinking she was looking for someone to sue for not being PC. That's some of the reasons I didn't do it, plus the fact I would make one very big ugly woman. It is rough knowing that I will never be able to be who I wanted to be. It hits me pretty hard now and then. I just have to try and enjoy what I was given as the person I am. I guess you could, and maybe have, make lists of reasons for and reasons against and see which one wins. I had to put a 5lb. box of See's candy on the reasons for side of the scale so it would balance out. When I ate the candy it was a big NO GO. As Christina told you age isn't the biggest factor, it just makes things a little more difficult. The hardest thing is the effect it will have on the others in your life. If they can accept what you do than you are very fortunate. It's a big decission, make it well.

Hi Teegee.

If you have big testicles would 1cc injection of polidocanol be enough? What does it feel like after and during the injection?

From Wikipedia:

Polidocanol is a sclerosant (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... &redlink=1), an irritant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irritant) injected to treat varicose veins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varicose_veins).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polidocanol#cite_note-0)fibrosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibrosis) inside varicose veins, occluding the lumen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumen_%28anatomy%29) of the vessel, and reducing the appearance of the varicosity. Current research is involved in development of polidocanol as a topical therapy, where systemic safety might no longer be an issue.

Polidocanol is not approved for use in the US.[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)] Systemic polidocanol is sold outside the US under the brand name Aethoxysklerol.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polidocanol#cite_note-1)

Let's please not start another injection thread.

Thank you.
