Are you sure you watched "Hard Candy"? I don't know how you could call it a fun movie. I guess if you are into "BDSM", it could be taken that way. I'm sure in reality she didn't castrate him, but in the movie she did. What were those two bloody orbs she put down the disposal?

well purely by chance I managed to find 'Hard Candy' in my local supermarket (of all places) and yes, a great film! very psychological... Can't say that i've come across many other films that are so graphic without actually showing the blood, guts and gore - truly excellent filmaking!

I caught the movie "HARD CANDY" on Satellite yesterday.
It IS a well-made movie, and it goes along with the themes here. In the movie a reference is made to
www.eunuchs.com/ which is awfully close to the web address that gets you to the E.A.
Kind of makes me wonder if somebody who made that film has been visiting here.
The movie itself is NOT realistic in that if that youngster HAD cut that guy he would not have been running around fighting with her.
You CANNOT sufficiently numb an area with ice to perform surgery.
She left enough DNA around that even a SLOPPY forensics lab evaluation would REVEAL that a female did it to him. She broke the vase trying to wipe her fingerprints off of it and she might have been traced with those.
All in all, the movie was a shock effect movie and the star should have been Roman Polanski and she should have NULLIFIED him...but Hollywood would NEVER make a statement THAT strong.
Especially in light of the way that they shot nudes of Brook Shields when she was only 12 and also exploited others such as Linda Blair in the movie BORN INNOCENT (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born_Innocent) when she was only 15.
...and they were not the only child actresses treated in this manner by Hollywood...

Maybe you should. She doesn't castrate him. She only pretends to. At least, she didn't in the DVD version. I don't know what you've watched.

In a weak moment some months back, I bought this movie on DVD.
Wow! It had me on the seat of my chair and spurting.
I loved the lines where he asks her if she is crazy and she replies, "Four out of five doctors agree."
The surgery was a bit hokey and there is no way she could have had all that stuff in her school bag ahead of time, but -- that's Hollywood....
