I went to see my doctor this morning and told him what the problem was. I also told him that I had researched the condition and that some people were given Anti-androgens to help them with the problem. It was a very difficult situation, as I did not want to tell him what he should be doing for me; I wanted him to lead the conversation
He was very understanding, but when I mentioned that other people were given medication for this condition, he thought it would be in very rare cases for a doctor to give out drugs and that maybe the people I was referring to were self-medicating. Although I was disheartened by that comment, I let him carry on telling me about a consultant that deals with sexual dysfunction and that maybe he can help me.
I had been building up to this for days and I nearly cancelled my appointment on a number of occasions.
Therefore, by this time, my nerves were getting the better of me and my shakes were clearly visible. He said, Dont worry you have broken the ice now Which made me feel a little bit better.
He has taken my blood to test my testosterone level and I am just hoping it will show a true result, because about 3 weeks ago I had started to take for 4 days only, some Cyproterone tablets. I decided to stop taking them as I feel that I want to do this will my doctors help and not behind his back. (I did not tell him this though)
On a good note, he will be sending me to the sexual health consultant mentioned above. So just maybe there is another way of sorting my problem without the aid of drugs.
If that doesnt work then I will self medicate, but not until after we have conceived a child, later on this year, as I dont want to spoil my chances of fathering a child.
I will keep you all apprised of my progress.

Confused: does your wife to be know of your ultimate desire, Castration, Nullification, Genital Modification or does she think you just have a libido problem? If the libido is causing these thoughts, you need to see a psychiatrist. They are qualified to help with these problems, especially if their field is gender disorders. They can also prescribe medications that will help. When I first went to my family doctor with my problems he prescribed Lexapro as he didn't really understand what I really wanted. The Lexapro did lower my libido, but I was still functional. This drug might help you for now until you decide how far you want to go with this thing. You might find that your libido is causing thoughts that you normally wouldn't have. If your doctor does prescribe Lexapro, you need to ask if it causes sterility. I don't think so, but ask. Also if this drug is prescribed, be aware that it is difficult to get off of. If you just quit taking it, it feels like your brain is short circuiting. You have to slowly wean yourself off of it over a couple months. Just a little advice from an older guy who has been there. Once you know for sure what your ultimate plans are for your genitals, don't keep it from your fiancee. She is going to be part of your life and I imagine cares for you very much. She won't appreciate you coming home one day dropping your pants and saying, look honey, no genitals. Just a thought. They usually don't like those kind of surprises. At this point you may lose a fiancee, but that's better than losing you wife and kids later on. There is so much to consider when dealing with these issues. I know my wife is still having problems with it. Hope this helps. Steve

LoL Thanks for your comments and advice Hairless.
I think maybe we had some wires crossed here. Although I am interested in the things mention above, it is only an interest, not desire and I am not thinking of doing them to myself.
I have told my fiancé everything that I intend on doing, chemical castration and possibly surgical castration after a few years, if we both agree that it is for the best for us.
She comes on this forum just as must as I; In fact, she was the first person to see your post today, which tuck a bit of explaining over the phone, after she thought there was something I was not telling her.
Sorry if I have mislead anyone by having them in my user profile. But I believed them to mean Interests and not Desires, I Have now changed my profile.

That's a relief. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. It sounds like you have quite a gal there. Don't let her get away. I just didn't want you two to start your lives together on the wrong foot. I know, it's none of my business.

Confused - I want to be surgically castrated but as a fore runner I thought it best to try chemical castration for a while, can anyone recommend a drug that will work, cause my testicles to shrink and to cause breasts to grow slightly

Chemical castration first is always a better idea. You can test drive it's effects before committing to the real thing (which you can never go back from). Once you are at the castration level in regards to testosterone, you may or may not see any breast development. Low testosterone levels allows your body's own estrogen level to take effect. You may need to supplement with additional estrogens to see any breast growth.
It may take many months, even a year or more, to see any shrinkage from chemical castration. This effect won't happen in a short period of time.
Your profile says you are from the UK. Androcur may be the drug of choice for you as it it available in the UK. I would advise you to see your doctor about getting it and having them monitor your health for safety reasons. Other available drugs are Depo-Provera and Spironolactone.

About 18 months ago I browsed this site and came across a reference to Lexapro. I spoke to my doctor about it and he was happy to prescribe it, as I had stopped taking my other anti-depressant medications about 18 months before that. He felt it was important that I be on an anti-depressant, and I wanted to see if libido reduction would reduce my porn habit and help me overcome an unintended hand-to-the-penis gesture that occurred at embarrassing times when I was talking to people.
I noticed immediate reduction in libido as soon as I started Lexapro. My porn issue greatly improved, and the hand gesture seemed to wane if not disappear altogether.
The doctor has given me free samples all this time, but the last time I called I didn't get a call back. I guess the free ride is over.
I am in the process of requesting a prescription of Lexapro, or something like it, through the VA now. In the meantime, I am without meds, and have been for a week. Hairless' warnings have come true. I have started having problems with anger and angry rumination, and the frequency of masturbation has become almost daily again. It used to be only every few days when I was on my meds.
Lexapro gave me a big improvement in quality of life. That was very valuable information that I got from this site. Thanks!

Citalopram (Celexa) is very similar to Lexapreo and you can get it from the Wal-Mart pharmacy for $10/ 3 month supply. Good luck!
