I am not so concerned with the "newby" as I am with the regulars around here.

People, even here, may not be what they seem to be. I would ADVISE anybody, even you, NOT to rush off alone on a whim and meet a new member here who has less than, let's say, 12 posts... no magic number, but it is just not good practice.

ANYTHING can happen when you don't know people, and sometimes even when you DO know people.

A-1: Did you think Tugon was trying to arrange a meeting with him? I didn't get that from his reply, but I guess you might have. Is that your concern? Which one do you think is the troll, Tugon or collegejock? I saw it all as a harmless exchange of patter between two adults that should have sense enough to look after themselves.

Slammr has it right on his initial call - this is exactly one of the "hostility" issues we've been discussing in the separation of fantasy and reality.

HOWEVER - if someone comes on and is silly enough to actually DO that, then they deserve to be eaten by Jeffry Dahmer.

Sigh... guess my post kinda fueled a fire I didn't know was going on around here... all I wanted to do was talk online with another college guy my age about his fantasies... Anyways... it's good to know people are looking out for one another around here... just as long as it doesn't become excessive and become a bit of a witch hunt... Humm... but I'm new here so what do I know. x.x

Anyways... Slammr... if he doesn't get back to you about his fantasy I wouldn't mind talking to you about mine... maybe you can write a story about me. Heh... if you go into the chat a lot I'll keep an eye out for you. Been bogged down with finals prep lately so my internet time has been cut back but I'll try and pop in and see if you're around and say hi.

PS: It's a good idea not to trust anyone you meet online... there are a lot of creeps out there that fake pics, information, etc. just to manipulate you into whatever they're scheming. I'd expect everyone to suspect me until I proved myself to them... yes that's my picture on the left... and anyone that suspects otherwise... well uhh make a request and ill take another one for you... Just tell me what to write and I'll write it on a big piece of paper and hold it up next to my face and use my webcam and take another pic just to prove it. :> Though lately... even I don't know who I am so... that's saying a lot.... O.O

There's nothing wrong with that, and no one's going to stop you from doing it.

You didn't really fuel a fire - it all just set off some of the protective instincts from the older folks here.

Hell, 21 is still a kid in my book. "My" oldest is 19 and bitching about still being treated like a child.

Chis: I don't think it was your post at all that started any of this. I don't think you or collegejock did anything wrong. As Paolo said -- to me at least -- it was an over reaction by a couple of members to either his or Tugon's post. I'm not certain which. No one was talking about arranging a meeting or castrating anyone. The posts were all about fantasy, and -- being an author on EA -- that's my specialty. If you'd like a story written about you, I'll write it. I'm never on chat -- just not my thing -- but I'll respond to your emails or just post your fantasy here, and I'll see what I can work up.

And, you and your fantasies are certainly welcome on the message board at EA. You were never out of line in what you posted. Nor do you have to prove anything to anyone. I'm a long ways from being your age, but email or pm me anytime you want. I will write back.
