One good thing about chemical, you can fine-tune the dose. For the past few months I have been on 2/3 of a Depo-Provera shot a month. It raised my T-levels from 100 to 150. Not much difference but my wife says I am more assertive, in a good way. But I find for some strange reason fatigue is more of an issue than on full dose. Again a "your milage will vary" kind of thing.

Yes, every man has a different requirement.
I am on 5 mg androgel and my level is around 250 mg.
It seems to work O.K. most of the days.
I rarely get a hot flash and I do not have to take an afternoon nap everyday, maybe twice a week.
I just wonder what was my natural T-level with both of my testicles before I met those "nice" men in the white coats.
I think I read somewhere that the right testicle produces more T.H.:-\
I wonder what my levels would be if I had not gotten the mumps. I'm impressed that your doing ok at 250. I'm afraid I would be a messed up disaster.

I am doing O.K. "under the circumstances".
That means: I take 2 high blood pressure meds and Zocor for high cholesterol.
My doctor also wants to put me on diabetes meds because my glucose topped 106 recently. Who knows how this cocktail of drugs affects my natural production of T and the Androgel absorption.
However when I used the Androderm patch my T was only around 135.After a day wearing the patch most of the gel was still in the patch...
Day by day, I guess.H.:-\
Glucose topped 106? Was this a fasting glucose? How many hours? 106 is not very high at all. If I have a 106 on waking up, I'll know I ate a bit late the night before, and not worry about.

Yes,to all the questions.
I have been arguing with my doctor about that for a month.
But I have to respect him because he cared enough to find the right drug to lower my blood pressure after taking "shit" for fifteen years and stil having HBP.
Now I take Benicar and Lisinopril (10 mg/20mg) and BP is around 120/80. I think I would be dead today without him.
I think that I am making a mistake the night before I go for the blood test.
I eat late and a lot because the next day I get to the lab around 11am and don't want to "starve".
So next time I will "starve" and see if there is any Glucose change.H.
If you are eating that close to the blood draw or stick, the reading is very good. I usually fast for 12 hours before a draw, typically glucose is in the 80s. A1C tnds to ride a bit high, though not bad (usually around 6.0). Sticks at home in AM before breakfast (about 8 hours sleep fasting) tends around 90-100. Personally, if he is doing just a standard glucose test, 106 is nothing to worry about.
As an aside, we are really veering off topic.....

H.,
Tell your doctor to go back to school and study diabetes.
You don't have anything to worry about with an 8-hour fast test of 100, give or take. That's fine. Diagnosis is made at 126. He just wants to sell you more meds that you don't need.
Also, are you peeing every 15 minutes, a lot?
Numbness in the extremities? Weight loss, constant thirst/hunger?
Blurry vision?
I doubt it somehow.
Now, back to the topic...

Prebubertal children have a gland in their chest (thymus) that produces a hormone called tymosin or smth. Mainly its function is related to support immune system. this gland disappears during puberty and adults do not have it.
Perhaps thymus is related to children high energy levels?
Other thing is, that children do not have GnRH and related hormones in their blood. As brain (hypothalamus) where it is normally produced is blocking its production.
as a side effect adrenal gland is stimulated by GnRH too.
Perhaps adrenaline levels are high in adults and thus adults are somehow less sensitive to adrenaline?
At puberty children have extra energy. Perhaps raised adrenal levels?

I was running about 139/89. That's too high for my doctor. He put me on Lisinoprill, which brings it down to less than 120/80, the current recommended levels. Lisinoprill is cheap. 3 months' supply costs me less than $15, and that's not using my insurance to buy it.
My mother had high blood pressure. She died of a stroke. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have some blood vessel in my brain pop.
oops: off topic again, aren't we?
