One of my main motivations for castration was Jesus' words, "If something causes you to sin, cut it off" (Matt 5:29-30). The context of the passage is adultery, so there's no mistaking what part of the body he was talking about.

I am aware of the quotation. Since my wife is one of those folks who choose to take the Bible literally, she is in full agreement with my decision. Matt 5:29-30 is not my sole source of motivation however.

I do remember that the Bible also says "if your eye offend you (causes you to sin) pluck it out, and if your had offends you (causes you to sin) cut it off." How much more appropriate would it be to remove the offending sexual organs than to let them cause you to do something you will later regret? Adultery causes a great many marriage breakups. 📖
