going to get the left one with cord taken out, finally, when I told the doc Ive had it, going to do it my self, if he didnt, 👀 it did get his attention ,doc said ok, when do you want to do it, now I have to wait till jan 07 , getting better insurance at beginning of the yr, now to make it to jan, thats the agrivating part. :-\

will see how things go, since hash and others have mentioned about things not being the same, with both gone, if I can get away with 1 left, and no pain, I`ll leave things at that.

wish to thank all of those who shared experiences on this board, I learned alot, and kept me from doing something stupid 🔨

Without pissing everyone off I am glad to talk to other guys in similar situations.

I really don't know how long I've had hypogonadism (Non functioning testes) so perhapes I can't report accurately how well HRT works for me. I take Androgel and since then things are much much better for me.
OneBallBoi (imported) wrote: Thu Sep 21, 2006 1:11 pm I had the mumps for the second time
as a young man so perhapes I just can't remember when I was hormonaly healthy? That said, I could really do without the constant pains. I also don't care for the atrophy of my "pair." For what its worth talk to your doctor when your insurance kicks in and discuss HRT, Orchiectomy and Implants. You will want to think this out long and hard. This is a one way street. There are other things to consider. A pain clinic might be the answer for you. It might also be possible that your pains can be controlled in other ways such as talking to a mental health professional *Although between you and me I doubt it. But who knows?

If you do go with HRT be sure to note symptoms and report back to your doctor. It takes a lot of fiddling with dose to get your hormones right again. Once you do you will be a lot happier if your experience is anything like mine.

Good Luck! Stay in touch I'm curious what happens

Mrt,

Stay in touch I'm curious what happens,

🚬 dont worry, I `ll let everyone know, how things go,

the waiting part to me so far is the hard part, kind of like a abcessed tooth, you are ready to get rid of the problem, been mentally ready for the orchi, as to a implant, really dont want it, believe it or not.

did have some blood work done, lately, doc was courious on what T level I had now.

Im technically hypogonadal right now, 174ng.dl , the docs low limit was 240ng.dl, thing is, I was at 260 when I had the epididy surgery on both sides(after that episode, I made up my mind of any thing else, I wanted the nuts gone) close to 8yrs ago, and nothing has really changed for me, as to frequency and enjoyment(outside of the pain issue) on the sex end of things🤷

and also found out I was hypothyroid, wonder if the low T helps cause that too?

and the saga continues😄

Wow mumps Orchitis similar to the bacterial Chronic Orchitis that I had where they had swollen to grapefruits and I was in bed for a month......

My Dr did not think it was that serious I was too young, I think it was wrong because mabye the testicles could have been saved if taken more seriousley.
mrt (imported) wrote: Thu Sep 21, 2006 11:17 am Mumps?! I thought they stamped that out years ago. You have my sincere sympathy. I had the mumps many years ago and had similar problems. Since then my testes have been ultra sensitive. Maybe I got used to the kicked in the balls feeling or? Anyhow most likely due to damage from the mumps I was diagnosed as having hupogonadism and started taking testosterone (Which feels great btw) When I started HRT the pains went down quite a bit. However they have started up again and with it the HRT is shrinking them so.... I say speak to a doctor about "everything" replacements and implants may not be the right solution but you have to tell your Doctor so he/she can start working on a plan.

Good luck! BTW I would NOT go for pain numbing meds. Too easily to let that screw you up. For temporary relief use a frozen bag of peas. This cooling has worked for me in the past.

Zac (imported) wrote: Thu Sep 21, 2006 12:07 pm Well, the doctor is aware of my constant pain, but as yet has only given me anti inflammatory and painkillers, both of which have screwed up my stomach and have not been affective. I need to go back shortly to discuss the options.

So I guess whacking them with a paddle is out of the quesiton😄😄😄

Seriously though...as the old saying goes (with a twist of course) If at first you do not succeed ask a different doctor! I have found that some doctors (like people) are more conservative and others more liberal! One doctor might say, "take two and call me in the morning!" the other might say, "Oh dear, oh My, lets whack them off!" :dong:😄 just had to...

PS....You can always say the pain is worse then it is!

Doc my balls hurt?

On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do they hurt?

"15!"

I had an infection after an issue with a fight my testicles were injured my internist did not want to send me to a urologist because the urologist would have wanted to remove my testicles thaey had swollen to the size of grapefruits for sometime.

I am on a vigirous HRT therapy however now as Chronic orchitis really hurt my testosterone production...

I have head of Dr's removing them due to pain issues after infection or other issues or if they are damaged and not functioing they may remove them to prevent cancer.

Well, it is actually important to make the doctor aware of the intensity of pain if it is truly affecting your life. Your doctor only sees you for a few minutes and unless you really convey your dilemna effectively they'll always take a conservative approach.

This happened with my wife related to back pain. The doctors kept giving her different pills (anti-imflamatories, pain-killers, muscle relaxants) etc. But she got to where she couldn't drive or work any more. So I told her to go back to the doctor and really explain that she was effectively handicapped. Within a week, they found she had bone spurs and removed them. She was cured immediately, and no amount of medication or physiotherapy would have helped had she continued.

It is up to you to explain your predicament to the doctor, not for them to be mind-readers.

Amen! I always found the 1 - 10 scale difficult. It was easier for me to relate it to other types of pain. A nurse told me that all they were looking for were pain numbers 6 or higher for giving pain meds. SIGH.....

I think relating to the surgeon that I had regular (like 6 days a week) pain like that dull throbbing ache you got the day "after" getting hit with a line drive in the nads explained it well enough. I said the pain of getting hit by a line drive I can easily relate as a "10" on the pain. The rolling around on the ground so bad you almost throw up. Or the pain of having your wrist shattered. Also a ten. Where that pain bad enough to keep you awake all night fits? I don't know for sure but its not good.

Is it good enough to become hooked on opiates? "close" but I said I really have a strong desire to have a life (that I was aware of). Thus my choice to have an orchiectomy.

I think for those who would be willing to lie to a doctor to get this done? See a shrink first and talk about your motives for this. That meeting(s) will get you a clear direction and probably a letter that can be used to obtain surgery. I think this is well worth doing in any event because of possible post op regrets.
