I think Dr. Kimmel is still doing castrations and if you've had a cancer scare it whould be a lot easier to find a doctor willing to perform the procedure.

If you're uncertain, maybe you should think about trying chemical castration first to make sure it's for you. That way you can be certain before you cross the point of no return.

Whatever you decide, PLEASE be safe and have a doctor perform the surgery.

Patthew, Taylor is right on the money and we are all willing to give a hand or comment.

Hairless (imported) wrote: Thu Sep 21, 2006 5:14 pm What you are telling us, does not totally go along with your profile. I looked. Since you consider yourself Gay, I guess you have no desire to father childern. So that is of no concern. From what you say here, you seem to have a sexual fantasy about castration. That in itself is not a good reason. If your testicles a producing the proper amount of testosterone, you can't beat what your body makes. Although HRT works for sexual performance, it's not delivered at a constant rate that your body does. I'm on 300 mg. depo-testosterone every three weeks now. I just changed from every 4 weeks, today. At 4 weeks, the last week, I was feeling a little tired. The doseage you recieve is experimental until you get it right. You also need to consider that it is not legal to get testosterone in the US without a prescription, so you need to find a doctor that is willing to work with you.

Here you say the empty scrotum look has an alure to you, but in your profile you mention that you desire nullification. With that you don't need HRT to achieve what you don't have the equipment for. If you don't take HRT there are many other side effects you will have to deal with. Read the post here on the effects of castration. read all you can here. There have been many here that were or are in the same boat your in. Learn from their mistakes and their victories. There are many caring people here that are willing to advise you, but the bottom line is, the decision is yours. Don't make it without all the info you can get. Good luck, Steve
Hairless is also right on. Think long and hard about this, you cant grow new ones.

Be careful what you wish for. You might regret it afterwards. Fantasy should stay fantasy - the real world is very unforgiving of rash decisions.

I don't have a fantasy of being castrated, meaning the actual procedure itself. I think I'd actually prefer not to see the procedure take place. My interest lies in the aftermath, namely having no testicles. When I think of myself with nothing below my penis, I feel as though that is how I am meant to be. And given my history of testicular issues (cysts, crypt orchid, etc) I don't think I would have too much trouble convincing a doctor to perform an orchiectomy.

My biggest apprehensions are about my mental/physical health status afterward. I understand that being a Eunuch, even on HRT, brings with it a host of medical issues that others don't deal with. That is my biggest sticking point at the moment.

I agree that the mental and physical issues after castration are a major concern. Unfortunately, some have a good time of it and others don't. It is a one-way trip if you opt for surgery.

I'd like to say - "Try it, you'll like it," but there is no way to predict the outcome....

I want it - have been wanting it for over 30 years - one of these days I'll find the right person and have it done. Then I'll find out what happens afterwards....

Good luck and be careful out there....
