Lemme see...
The Usual Suspects mentions that castration of one of the main character's nephews.
The Last Emperor talks a bit about castration and features several eunuchs.
In Roots, Kunta Kinte (Tobie) is offered the choice between castration and getting 1/2 of his foot cut off.... he chooses the foot.
Ice Pirates featues a near castration scene of the main character... on a eunuch assembly line.
The History Channel did a special on the Forbiddon City wherein they show a photo of a nude Chinese eunuch and discuss castration and the role on eunuchs in China.
In the movie Stir Crazy, a patient in the prison infirmary tells Richard Pryor that when he went in for an appendectomy he came out without his family jewels.
In Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Indie, played by River Phoenix, almost gets gored in the nuts by a rhino.
There was a cheesy made-for-tv movie called something like Mafia Women wherein a mother castrates her own son.
I think I might know of another one that I haven't seen here before... if it comes to me I'll add it.

And there are some Brazilian films by Glauber Rocha where guys get castrated. They started me off with my interest in the subject. Saw them at University.
In one a farmer who has annoyed the local landlord is told to turn round and bend over, and a knife is thrust between his legs. You see the blood as he runs away screaming.
In another, bandits raid a wedding reception. They rape the bride, ask the groom if he has seen it all, then one gives the order "capa ese animal", castrate that animal. Wow.
Any one know the titles of these films?

I think that the ultimate castration (penectomy) scene is in "The Last Woman" or "L' ultima donna" by Marco Ferreri. In it, Gerard Depardieu (who has many full frontal nude scenes) slices off his penis with an electric carving knife out of dispair because man's virility and sexual organs have seemingly become so common in women's lives, and no longer admired for their physical existance alone. The castration scene is VERY graphic. This 1976 film is difficult, but not impossible, to find and order by looking in cult film magazines such as Psychotronic.

In The Realm Of The Senses : I've never seen this one, but I want to. From a review I read, a woman slices of her lover's dick and wanders around town waving it in people's faces. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
"
Ai no corrida (Realm of the Senses) is an extremely moving film. It is based on a famous true story.
Yes, she did in reality and does in the flick.

The Serpent And The Rainbow : This is based on a book of the same name and allegedly (the book, anyway) is a true story. It's a voodoo/horror movie that takes place in Haiti, if I recall. The hero is caputured by the villian and is strapped to a chair with his underwear down at his ankles. The bad guy drives a big railroad spike down on the hero's nuts. We don't get to see any nudity, but we get to see the hero writhing in pain and bloodied underwear. Later in the movie, the hero (Bill Pullman) said that the villian only punctured his scrotum.
"
In The Rainbow and the Serpent, an ethno-botanist named Wade Davis wrote a popular version of his scholarly research on drugs and religion in Haiti. I have not read the scholarly book. I did read the popular account. It is utterly fascinating. The guy who directed Last House on the Left and the Nightmare on Elm Street flicks directed the film version of Daviss book. The film is a popular movie with a plot that somehow strikes one as almost believable, especially if you have read the book. However, Wade Davis was not, I am certain, ever a zombie.
The books is excellent and I think quite true. The movie is a fictional variation on the themes of the book. I would like to read the scholarly verison. Castration would be nothing compared to having endured the effect of the drug used to make a zombie.
However, this is no Ai no corrida. That film fits quite properly with the content of this board. In the Realm of the Senses is a spendid movie.

In Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, there are several full Nullo's who attack John Malcovich's character. They are backlit as they run out of a building in nightshirts and you can see everything. Or rather, nothing.

And let us not overlook FARINELLI, Il Castrato, which has the bonus of some great singing and music. (I have the CD.)

Way down in the NonFiction articles is my review of "China's Last Eunuch", or also called "Last Eunuch in China." Fictionalized, of course. It's cheesey, has horrible music, and the guy who did the English subtitles was obviously illiterate or drunk. Very funny to read and entertaining.
There is one castration scene of "our hero", a young boy, who is castrated by his father. The father botches it, the boy finishes it himself, and it's quite bloody. Not overly realistic either, given that the time going by would have probably allowed the boy to bleed to death.
Actually, the boy is the only GOOD actor in it.
Sammo Hung, who later played aside Arsenio Hall on the CBS TV show "Martial Law" plays the theater owner who takes the young eunuch in and raises him. In one episode of the show, a young lady mentions the film to Sammo's character. It was an inside joke. Not one of his better roles, and not very historically accurate, either.

One movie which I don't think was mentioned above, is BLACK SNAKE, which deals with the life of a historical figure. (Her name may have been Lady Jane Walker.) She owned a plantation in the West Indies, and guess what she liked to do to her male slaves.
