I have been on full HRT for almost five years now. My testicles had not been functioning for probably 10 years if not more. I have been dealing with recurring infections for about 2-1/2 years and have been in constant pain for over a 1-1/2 years. I went through the whole regimen of drugs to try and stop the pain but nothing worked. Removal was the only option left.
Has anyone had any experience with swelling of the scrotum after surgery?

3 1/2 weeks later, the left side of my scrotum is still swollen. It feels/looks like it's still in there

My right side was swollen for the first week, then it started to go down and is now pretty close to having no swelling at all. From what I have heard the swelling can last for quite a while after surgery.

Well, I don't know about being free of the male sexuality, but I sure am glad th
Has anyo
ne had any problems with swelling of the scrotum after surgery?
Congratulations on finally achieving a painless crotch. It's too bad that men have to go through this to lose their testicles even after they're older and the testicles are useless and perhaps painful as well.
And as you point out, one's still a man following castration, just a ballless one.
My sac was swollen to almost twice the normal size following surgery, and there was considerable bruising of the groin area as well. Both disappeared in 7-10 days. Recovery time varies considerably between individuals.

Plix & JeffEunuch,
Thanks for the reply. I had expected some swelling, but not the amount I have had. There has been a lot of bruising in the area of my pubic bone and I did not expect that at all.

Congratulations on getting done. I have to admit that all the discussion of the consequent potential problems of surgical removal sound horrendous. Surely a competent and experienced burdizzo-user has got to be able to do better than this? This discussion has made surgery sound like a last choice when all else has failed. It's certainly what I think I'll be doing.

Over all, I am pleased with the way things went. The bruising is gone, swelling is greatly reduced and there is very little scrotal discomfort. The severe ache I had from the testicles is gone. As of right now, I am very happy with the surgery. I would do it again.

before using a burdizzo check to see if it is sprung. Fold a piece of paper over some cotton string. Clamp it with the burdizzo. Release the Brudizzo. If you pull on one side and the other side stays. In other words see if it will cut a cotton cord before you try your cord.
Now for hot flashes. Niacin in the vitamin isle of your grocery store will give you a close approximation of a hot flash. 100 mg and within five minutes your skin will flush slightly. If you have health problems I wouldn't try this by the way.
I was unconcious for my surgery it was just glued together with two internal stitches, and taped over tightly. It healed without a noticable scar. There was no bruising, it stung if I touched it, or pulled it or bumped it, but otherwise I couldn't feel it, however my gut was wretching from the other procedure done at the same time. In a weeks time it was pretty well healed.
I do wish I had never done it. I played with my balls for 40 years and now I don't have them to play with. Now I do feel blonde, dah.
Calm? no But I do find myself dreading doing things I find unpleasant more.
I'd just say lazier. Not really depressed, but, not quite as optomistic.

I am a veterinarian, though now retired. During my professional career, I carried out a great number of castrations - all on animals I hasten to add. From a surgical point of view, there is not that much difference in the surgical procedure between a human male and an animal except for one very great difference. A human male normally lies in a clean environment. If the procedure is expertly carried out with the correct aseptic technique then with a healthy male quick healing without complications should be the rule.
From my observations of post-castration pain in animals, I certainly would not wish to endure the pain which follows the use of a Burdizzo.
For myself, I chose to be fully conscious during my castration with just injections of a local anesthetic into my scrotum so that I didn't feel the surgeon's cut
ell and without the use of any antibiotics either during or after the surgery.
It is now nearly two years since I was castrated. I have no regrets. When did you loose your balls?
Terry (a very contented eunuch)

I, too, played with my balls and for over fifty years. I did the night before surgery. However, I am very glad they and the constant pain that they were giving me are gone. I could see what was going to happen 2-1/2 years ago when the infections started. It took that long and three urologists to get the job done.

I enjoyed playing with my balls as well. I almost ran from the doc's office that first offered to remove my balls when I was 23 y.o. I couldn't get away fast enough. His almost parting comment is that I'd be feelin' pain and discomfort as I aged, and there was nothing I could do about it. I don't think he enjoyed the thought of castrating me, 'just giving me the straight goods.' I did of course finally come around and have them removed 5 years ago. If I'd known how comfortable it might be without them, I would have indeed done the deed much sooner even if I did occasionally enjoy playing with them at one time. Towards their end, they couldn't be touched. Sex is so much more enjoyable w/o them.
