Re: All Set For February 22nd Surgery
I had hernia surgery back in November, and other procedures before, so I am no stranger to going under. This will be done, of course, under general anesthetic. As for the scarring, I am not too worried about that. He's going to use the same incision I had for my hernia surgery on the one side, and make the other in the same place on the other side. The scars are only about 2-3 inches long and placed so low that they cannot be seen except under close inspection. It's only been 3 months since my hernia repair and already the scar has faded to a large degree. I am more worried about the pain; I found hernia surgery to be extremely painful, and unfortunately I am predicting this will be along the same lines as that was.

My own surgery from hernia repair, but many years ago, was quite painful. That's understandable, as quite a bit of intestine had to be moved from my sac back into the lower abdomen. The scar's long (4") and quite noticeable to me. It's probably one of the reasons that when I get in a body shaving mood, I usually always leave the pubes covered in hair, even if trimmed. However, others hardly ever notice the scar. Of course, others often don't notice I'm castrated either. I recall that recovery from the hernia repair took 10 days. The testicle on that side ceased to be in the process.
OTOH, my BF had hernia repairs on both sides 2 years ago, and the scars are barely visible. His hernias weren't as serious as mine. He was sort of recovered in about a week in both cases, although there was still some pain for at least a month.

Re: All Set For February 22nd Surgery
Wow. February 22 comes soon! Congratulations on the date. I know that you have thought about this for some time, but now here we are. Soon, you will be free.
As you may see on the hormone or TG sites, so many of us have the procedure and are quite happy about it. Mine was by olde Dr. Spector and I have been appreciative since.
I wish you the best and keep in touch. The healing should not be too bad, nor the surgery and anesthesia, so do not worry too much.
We all wish you well.
Warm hugs,
Kelly

Well, hoping that everything went as scheduled on Feb. 22. Please keep us informed as to your recovery etc. It would be interesting to have you note the thought processes you had while going thru the operation if you were under local anethesetic rather than general.

It's been a week. I guess we're all a bit curious as to how things went and how you're feeling. Any complications? Do you feel free? Are you happy? Hash
