well it seems to be moving.... my ears have been left "flakey" and the rash has moved above my elbows (back of arms) and around my neck and moving to my throat..... my left ear went all purple yesterday again and really started to itch for no reason but went down by this morning. im hoping its nothing and itll just go away but i think its a bit odd to have an allergic reaction for so long and it to be... moving

Actually, hives definitely moves. The hives I had was due to bad shellfish. Hives is a histamine overreaction and usually has to progress across your entire body until it goes away. It would start as a very itchy bump that would then spread as a "ring" of bumps across the face, etc.
The main thing is (I know it will drive you crazy) is not to scratch! Histamine will actually be reactivated if you scratch! You will have to start all over again every time you scratch.
Again, I'm not a doctor. But sounds like hives to me. On the other hand, most experienced nurses can diagnose that from a mile away.
Also, why did a nurse see you? I've never heard of a nurse being able to prescribe ointments ...
