Because using a picture of YOURSELF from childhood is acceptable. It's highly unlikely that Grandma is going to log onto EA and recognize you that way.

If your first response at looking a B's avatar is 'pedophilia', then I'd say it's YOU with the issue.

B - The most likely person to recognise a picture of a young boy IS his own Grandma - that may not be a problem for some --- however ----- it's probably won't be Grandma that is the Problem - but seeing a photo of a young boy is more likely to excite some dirty old Grandfather!

The concept of people using childhood pictures (of themselves) to represent themselves has a more important meaning. I think there are many eunuchs/wannabes whose ideal for their body is their pre-pubescent state. In other words, in my opinion, Paolo finds that picture to represent the best of himself and the state he would like best to be in.

Of course one shouldn't read too much into avatars, but I think there must be some interesting psychology behind what people choose to represent themselves.

In my case, the psychology was simple. I was too lazy to go through all the bother of producing an original avatar, so I asked BBoy to import a picture of the real me from another web site. Bboy did all thhe work. And if anyone outside of EA recognizes me, so what?

Yes Andrew, but I think your picture shows that you are comfortable with yourself, an opinion that I think is supported by your demeanor.

I think it is a big win in life if you feel that a simple picture of yourself is your best representation. All the rest of us are always hiding, bluffing, dressing up, etc ...
