A good friend got one to go as a part of a group to Thailand (false pretenses). He's now able to come and go from China as he pleases. I've travelled in and out with him on several occasions. Travelling with a Mandarin speaker is the best way. He used his passport to immigrate to Canada and is now in the process of obtaining his dream document, a Canadian passport.

Our friend in Beijing's only hope of leaving is still to go as a member of a group - or as a student. I've met dozens of people in China that've travelled everwhere after getting that initial passport. Thailand is of course a good destination for satisfying castration desires.
