Just a brief question for all the guys who have experienced chemical castration: Have any of you experienced depression once chemically castrated?
I ask since we know guys who have no testicles and forego Testosterone injections are susceptible to depression...
Robby

I have not suffered any depression. Maybe it is because my libido is gone

Okay. i have read your posts and i just wanted to add abit to them. a friend i met here at the archives suggested i start Androcur for a looksee into what life as a castrated eunuch would be like. now i have some of the info he gave me, the does and don'ts and what to expect. so i ordered Androcur and am going to start as soon as they arrive. But....
i am a 52 yr old male and i was wondering if you advise me also starting on Premarin or Estraderm. to suplement my reduction in male hormones. what are your thoughts on this? i really would appreciate it.

Tom, who is a nullo, says this regarding HRT:
Oh! I do take hormones now - primarily to reduce the chances of osteoporosis - but only enough to keep the hormone levels at the very bottom of the 'normal' range. I also noticed that male pattern baldness stopped in its tracks (no re-growth, though) and that body hair is a bit finer. (NOTE: I do not react well to taking testosterone, so the hormone I am on is actually estrogen. This keeps osteoporosis at bay without inducing a libido that demands physical release. The feminizing effects, if any, are quite minimal.)

Would you describe the negative effects of taking testosterone? I would appreciate your insight.

Tom is a member of this forum, although I'm not sure whether or not he's seen this topic.
He's said before that due to his penile nerves never being fully sensate (pre-op), and not having a penis at all (post-op), it was very sexually frustrating to have a libido, which testosterone causes.

Going on two weeks now 100mg.
No nightly/morning erections, I am very relaxed, one day of a baaad mood, and when I have touched myself the past few days the ejaculation was drops instead of streams.

It took over a minute to get erect.
I'm noticing a more pronounced chest. People are telling me I look younger and I was carded at the liquor store. lol
Last night, I was working on a dvd player that I got. I thought it was broken, but I didn't FREAK out. It turned out to not be DVD, in the end. My wife noted that she thought the testosterone depletion was working. She said normally I would have thrown a tantrum.
I love this.

I wish I had done this sooner.
I still think going straight orchi is not a good idea.

I tried searching the web BIG TIME for that diary. I couldn't figure out where I'd seen it.
Thanks for reposting the link.
It's the best Androcur diary I've viewed on the web.
I've got some reading to do again.
