Over the years I have noticed more tolorence to the gay comunity, thank god, I know if my brother were still alive I think he would be pleased in the direction its going but disapointed that equality is not there yet.

Where ever you are Russ, you will always have a special place in my heart, know that the work you did in life is still heading in the right direction.

Antagonism toward homosexuals within Christendom embarrasses me. I confess that my efforts to feel comfortable with homosexuality stumble over my basic inability to imagine having sex with a guy as being pleasant. In other words, my inability to imagine finding a man an attractive sexual partner blocks some of my empathy with homosexual Christians, but I work to overcome this block.

One perhaps silly way I have done this is to masturbate to nude photographs of myself from about 20-25 years ago :-\ . That little ironic twist has helped. When I was much younger, I could suck the end of my cock and ejaculate into my mouth. That also helped. I did not want to do this to any other guy.

My lack of imagination seems a damm poor reason not to celebrate the basic sexuality of all human beings. Christianity is hard to embrace even for someone like me who does. Unitarianism/Universalism has done a lot of work on embracing homosexuality. My own denomination the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) does include openly gay men and women members and ministers. It's an individual matter for members and a local congregational matter for ministers.

Would you not agree that the people making all the fuss have something of the same problem, except that instead of trying to overcome the prejudice (and there is a parable about foreign bodies in eyes to set an example...) there are too many voices insisting that whatever doesn't conform with their position is unequivocally evil?
