Ahh yes, yet another example of researchers going out and 'proving' something that anyone that has ever used IRC could tell them.
I found it quite easy to read the phrase. Gee, I must be spending too much time on IRC?

Boy am I in trouble, I did not realize anything was wrong untel I was over half way through it, when I realized that I read it even faster.

The website greatscott.com explains some of the complexities of hieroglyphic writing. Many hieroglyphs, called determinatives, don't represent sounds.
