Well, I'm just pondering about natural drives, has been a topic on some other board somewhere else and I had been thinking I had already learned something here about the corresponding chemistry here but have to correct myself now.

It's "common knowledge" that there is a "sex-drive" and that it's chemical equivalent is testoterone but since this apparently is complete nonsens if you learned something about behavior already and since, on the other hand, sex (and most other behavior) has to do with drives and testosterone I thought, who would know better than the Eunuch-Archivers about the chemical base frame!?

Well, maybe I should have been paying more attention on one of the other boards here, but I don't get some of the anabolic stuff you tell.

Haltlos,

Being new, I wouldn't know where a thread about Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) should go around here. Perhaps the subject is controversial.

So many eunuchs are perfectly happy and do wonderfully with castrate T levels permanently, and there are ways to handle osteoporosis concerns by giving low dose estrogen, for instance. As in most things involving the body and mind, mileage varies.

I left things as they were for 5 years, but found it difficult to perform parts of my job, which require a fair amount of strength. Without going into detail here, I felt I was no longer able to do my work safely. I compensated for a while by subcontracting with grunts to do things, but the safety issue remained. Along about then, I was diagnosed with disthymia, a persistant form of depression. This is sometimes related to low testosterone levels in males.

My various caregivers had _no_ concerns about my receiving prescription (RX) testosterone, and I received Testosterone Cypionate 100mg by injection every two weeks for several

years. Levels were monitored: I wished to keep at the "low" end of normal. Sexual functioning returned and my energy level went up, but the depression problem remained, even with lots of experimentation with antidepressants.

Later, I became active sexually again, and got interested in weight training...being slightly narccisstic and gay and all. I started using AndroDerm 5 mg. prescriptiion patches (also used TestoDerm TTS patches, but they were discontinued).

Getting T levels up into average ranges helped everything fall into place for me.

I discovered DermoCypional topical (OTC..over the counter or non-prescripton...at least at the moment) in January, and I think it's pretty good stuff. I still have RX for Androderm, but I am not using it presently.

Hormones can be androgenic (causing the male characteristics to develop...sex drive, body hair, aggression,

function of sex organs, etc.) and/or anabolic. Anabolics cause muscle growth, pure and simple, and are the "holy grail" of bodybuilders. Testosterone is both androgenic and anabolic. Hormones like nandrolone (deca-durabolin) are primarily anabolic. The OTC stuff I use seems to work more like nandrolone than "real" testosterone, in that my secondary male characteristics are regressing a bit, just like any good eunuch should be. However, I'm pretty muscular and my energy level is good. Best of both worlds, I'd say.

Your sex drive originates in your brain! How you feel about sex is due to the mix of male or female hormones flowing about your brain, or in the case of castrates who don't do T or estrogen, low sex drive from very low levels of estrogen and testosterone which come from body fat and the adrenal glands.

This amateur biology freak is tired! Must go sit down. :)

You type standing up ??? 👌

Thanx, yes I think I gathered something from that.

Especially the androgenic/anabolic thing fits into place now.

Of course the "sex drive" origins in the brain.

And if you take in question what that brain is made from and by which means it works it's not undignifying to realize that everything you feel and think has a physical equivalent.

The intriguing thing about that is (at the moment) neither that you could understand understand the enormously complex construction of drives very much better with that knowing nor that you could influence them so much now

(You CAN of course but it's a little like a lottery :D ); no, interesting is that the chemical construction is just as complicated as the result feels!

AND.

It's sometimes easier to explain that to somebody if you have physical arguments for it as well as mental.

And sometimes that someone is yourself.

So every little bit helps.

ME, I will not only sit down now!

I will go to sleep!

(Have to work tomorrow. Pity me, please. 🥴 :) )
