What I'm talking about is harassing the new story moderator in email or PM, or belaboring the same point to death on the forums, over and over. There's nothing wrong with a bit of tactful discussion, and questioning is fine. But if you don't like a rule, as I said, no amount of whining about it is going to change it.
If you think it's tough here, look up some of the other sites online that host stories and look at THEIR guidelines!
However, once the moderator has answered the question, that's the end of it. Sending the same questions to other moderators in an effort to override Plix is uncalled for. Emailing Plix with things like, "Did you get my story? Why isn't it posted yet?" is also uncalled for.
If you posted it to EA, and it's not there within 3 days, then DO write and ask nicely. It is possible that it got lost. Keep in mind that Plix and IE do have lives OUTSIDE of the Archive and sometimes things take time.
If all you want to do is argue, I can solve that problem with one push of a button.

I don't think the guidelines are tough at all, though sometimes I wonder if we are making rules just for the sake of having rules. A more free and open environment is more friendly, after all. For example, that bit about deleting stories that are given no tags; I'm perfectly fine with that since I'd never submit a story without tags anyway, but the obviously more friendly thing to do would be to skip that rule and supply the missing tags yourself.
And all of this protecting of Plix from the scary authors seems like it might be excessive. I sure hope that Plix needs and wants it because it is extremely unfriendly to threaten to ban authors. I would think that Plix is just as capable of ignoring messages as anyone else. (In fact, he's mentioned that his email is full of spam anyway.)
It sounds like we ban authors just for being enthusiastic. One could get the impression that if one sends enough messages to moderators, even polite messages, then banning is a sure result.
I am only concerned that we will scare off new authors, exactly the people who are most likely to read this guidelines thread. I think the real message that we want to give them is not, "try to undo rejection and get banned." What we really want to say is: "If your story gets rejected, then discuss with Plix about why it was rejected and then try to improve it. You can even ask the other moderators; they won't assume you are trying to get around Plix; they are all there to help."

CK, your stories are being published. I have not rejected a single story of yours. And yet you continue to argue.
Shortly I will be posting a modified version of the guidelines that incorporates Paolo's guidelines with my own. Paolo's guidelines touch on issues beyond grammar, and I think those issues are important as well. You will notice that I state that stories not meeting the guidelines may be rejected. Not will, but may. I deal with all stories on a case-by-case basis.
This discussion is done.

As plix has indicated, you seem to argue pointlessly, despite the fact that you have been published 100%. You seem to persistently want to pick a fight over nothing. I have had enough of it; we've swapped pm's about this once before, yet the same thing rears up again. If it rears again, it will be the last time.
