The effort we made so people could be gay and hold a job, to be gay and rent an apartment, to be gay and not be declared "insane," to be gay and visit your own children..... all these things we take for granted were long, uphill struggles against the same right-wing gasbags you champion now. And don't kid yourselves; transport OReilly, Limbaugh et. al. back to 1955, and they'd be railing against integration as another "liberal plot to undermine decent Americans." We need people like Rush who are not afraid to support the conservative view. Being a conservative, his views tend to support members of the republican party more than they support members of the democratic party. However, I have heard him bash some republicans and support some democrats for certain of their views.

Many (but not all) of the under 30 group in this country have so little respect for laws and morality. What is it going to be like when they start to run the country?

You may not read this but I will take my chances with the righteous right before I'd see a man like Saddam Hussein get Chemical, biological or nuclear weapons.

What happens to any of us is of little consequence when compared to what happens to the whole world.

I am all for Liberals and their ideals because at one time I was in a blinder facilitated lockstep with them, but their recent philosophy of tolerating the agents of all of our collective demise as a nation is...well...intorerable.

Ummm... Well, I probably stuck my foot in my mouth again, but that's what I'm all about, right?

I sent Max a private email about four hours ago. First I told him that being "out" in 1973 is not big deal. Then I appealed to him to him to stick around a while, but to just chill a little. I sense that our friend Max has a lot of emotional baggage he is dealing with, and if he would only allow it I'm sure there are people here who could help him.
