That wasn't due to being a high achiever, simply that I was born 15 days before the deadline of having to wait until the following year to start school when I was enrolled.

I agree, in my case it was 3 days.... But even so, I think the vast majority of the students in my HS graduation class had either NOT turned 18 or did so late in their senior year...

In my town at the time, the 'deadline' was Nov. 15, and one started Kindergarten at 5, plus 12 years = 17-18 at graduation, that happened in June, so even those that turned 18 in their graduation year, any born after June would have still been 17.... Doesn't bother me either way.

What I saw as mildly lacking in the story is what happened to the perpetrator - presumably law enforcement would have gotten involved pretty soon, and our perpetrator left plenty of evidence... My expectation is that he would have ended up spending a LONG time in the psych prison (if I'd been a juror I'd have said 'guilty but insane'...)
