I've been curious about Lupron myself for some of these reasons. Unlike androcur you're not adding a progestin, you're just stopping T production in the first place. You got it through insurance? I haven't found places offshore that sell it, despite looking for quite some time.

Yes, I got it through insurance (Mass Health, which I'm on due to disability)... Androcur is not FDA approved in the US, so Dr.'s can't prescribe it (given the known side effects, possibly not a bad thing...) As I understand it, Lupron is the US drug of choice for chemical castration, so you should be able to get it prescribed through the right doctor, and that is likely to be covered by your insurance (most policies are now required to cover 'gender affirming care' in the US...)

I got fixed following the WPATH SOC v.8 process as listed in the 'Eunuch Chapter' so was doing the medically approved route the entire way... Not sure about the politics in your state, but it is not one I've heard of having problems in this regard...

I definitely recommend downloading the SOC from the WPATH website, and reading AT LEAST the eunuch chapter, and ideally all of it... Then reach out to your local TG center and talk to them about starting the process.

I advise knowing what is in the SOC because you have to convince the docs that you meet their criteria, giving informed consent, and so forth... In some ways it's sort of like a job interview in that you don't want to lie, but you want to answer the questions in the 'right' way - so it helps if you know what they are looking for.... I don't know for sure, but I got a definite feeling that mentioning knowing the SOC, and mentioning doing a lot of research here on EA helped in convincing them that I really knew what I was getting into, which is a key part of the informed consent that they require.

Good luck on your journey...
