I'm going to be blunt because I've dealt with this kind of thing for over 20 years now, which if I've read your profile correctly is longer than you've been alive.

1. You're asking strangers on the Internet if you should get castrated and when. We're not the ones who should be making this decision for you, YOU MAKE THIS DECISION FOR YOU. FULL STOP.

2. You've made a statement which indicates the gender of the surgeon doing this for you is relevant. If that is a relevant characteristic to if you'll do this or not, then you'd be doing it for the wrong reason if you did.

FULL STOP.

3. You're in India, I'd think it relatively simple to get castrated there considering it's home to the Hijra community. "I'm not in the west..." isn't a meaningful impediment to having this done there. Seems people are having it done fairly routinely there, even with legitimate medical help. If I can sort this from the chair I'm sitting in on the other side of the world, surely you can figure it out locally.

Now for what it's worth, you seem to have doubt. And if you have any doubt whatsoever, my opinion is you should wait to do it, or not do it all.

What is your concern about maturing too much? Is it that you want to retain certain features of your youth and believe that castration will preserve them? Or do you believe that the removal of your testicles will have a psychological effect that acts as a “brake” on some aspect of your persona and outlook on life?

I have to weigh in with others here. This doesn’t resonate as thought out. This isn’t just a procedure, it is a fundamental and irreversible alteration to the remaining journey of your life - which has not yet been lived long enough in maturity to give you the benefit of hindsight to guide you. With all due respect to you, you still have absolutely no idea of what direction your life will take, what choices you may want to make, what life is going to dish out to you, and what is going to be important to you down the road.

Just as a personal example (not to bore you) my own journey has gone from being straight and married, to gay, to celibate; from successful executive to being homeless; to living in humble stability and sustaining myself through manual labour; from being a high-performing athlete to being crippled with a broken body and multiple chronic illnesses; from being a lifelong atheist to Christian faith being the most important thing in my life and seeking a vocation in the church.

Not as a lecture, but as an example - throughout your life you will have no idea of who you will be from one year to the next. You may have a trend of continuity for a few years, but then, boom, something changes.
