I don’t ever recal seeing a tumble weed but I also haven’t spent much time west of Ft. Worth, Austin and San Antonio.
Head west from Amarillo and you will be convinced that Columbus was wrong - the world is flat.

I’ve lived most of my life in Texas but have traveled extensively around the country and world. I don’t ever recal seeing a tumble weed but I also haven’t spent much time west of Ft. Worth, Austin and San Antonio. My power never blinked once with the weather hitting 10f and 30 mph winds. With the exception of the 5 days or arctic hell 2 years ago, I’ve never had issues with power unless it was due to a hurricane.
Yes, this wind and tumble weeds was mostly on my trip from Dallas to New Mexico up route 287 and Interstate 40. If I never see that area again, it will be too soon. East Texas coming in on I-20 was underwhelming as well. I have no idea why a couple friends from my childhood and their parents left our hometown and went to that area in east Texas. I didn't really see anything there I felt would draw me to want to linger.
