I first read "River God" back in ...?1993? A long time ago and I really love that book, it got me started on all books written by Wilbur Smith who is a pretty good author. Hands down "River God" is his best work, the sequel to it is "Warlock" and it is also good but not as good as "River God" in my opinion.

Jason Goodwin has a series of books where the protagonist is Yashim, a eunuc h. The first in the series is The Janissay Tree (2006) They are action/adventure/mystery type books, so Yashim is something of an action hero...

In case anyone was curious, which I doubt, I decided to create my personal gender symbol. It hit me like a falling walnut.

I can relate, having landed on the crossbar of my 10-speed more than a few times. I made the symbol with MS paint so black is black; it shows up better.

A Remote Diversion.
I can’t deny it. I’m responsible. People now call me Doctor Darwin. I have taken more people from the world's gene pool, including myself, than anyone else, ever.
I aimed to reduce the fertility rate of the world. It was a great invention, it worked, and it worked great. It was perfect, and I benefited from it. But that’s history.
The Government got its grubby hands on the whole project, and all hell broke loose. All I have to show for it is a dark metallic disk, a permanent addition to my skin where my genitalia used to be. I can’t get rid of it, nor do I want to. It is now a part of my body firmly attached to the remaining tissue behind it.
Let me tell you what I did. The truth can’t hurt me any worse...
