Sorry to hear that non-registered users have been shut off, though I respect the moderators decision to do so... I just know that I spent a considerable amount of time lurking and reading many articles before I reached the point where I wanted to make the commitment to further explorations. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had gotten a message about needing to register first, especially if I didn't have a chance to ask about privacy concerns.

I just wish it wouldn't have to be this way.

I think the issue of being told you've been banned has been fixed.

At least, I think it has, when I log out, I don't see it anymore.

I was getting the error message too. Now I'm getting a terse log in or create an account message. I think it's correct, but could be a bit more warm and welcoming if that's do-able.

Very similar messages seem to be built into a lot of software. I think it's a reflection of the emotionless relationship a code writer has with their computer screen.

You know that eventually, Talula is going to see that comment...
