Your last sentence is what I've been thinking. There are no known predictive indicators for how one may respond to castration or HRT.
It seems then that for a trial I could expect to be feeling some response, probably within seven to ten days after commencement, and if I felt I needed to bail, it would likely take about a fortnight to maybe three weeks to come back to close to the usual.
This is all good and valuable information. It gives me lots of opportunities to plan as well as I can.
I've had some dreadful bouts of depression and I'm still here. I can't judge how they compare with how castration will affect me though. I made myself a promise when I was a teenager, that I would never ever kill myself. If things got that bad, then I should kill whoever was driving me to desperation. A gaol sentence is better than a cold grave. I'm not too sure how that works out when castration is my idea. I won't die from my own hand though. Not if I can help it.
