With an already tight scrotum after castration, what are the advantages of having it removed? Is it only for asthetics?

Its also a bit more comfortable with no excess "baggage" in the way and somewhat more hygienic without the sweat and musky smells a scrotum can bring.

I find with penis shrinkage and castration I'm left with a lot of loose skin. it would be tidier to have just a little penis and hygienic

I came here today to post, and found someone had started a thread on the topic. I had my orchiectomy over 5 years ago, and left the scrotum intact at the time for potential further surgery. At this point, I'm confident that I eventually want full nullification, but since I'm persistently overweight, that's not going to happen any time soon. In the meantime, the loose scrotal skin is DRIVING ME NUTS (no pun intended). It's uncomfortable, gets pinched or twisted, and since I'm on low dose estrogen as a non-binary person, it tends to develop moisture (and that sometimes smells, even with regular showering, etc.). My big question is whether I'm going to be able to get insurance coverage for just a scrotectomy. Anyone with experience specific to this??

Same here, Orchi 2 1/2 years ago, on heavy dose of injected Estrogen and Progesterone and I will have my Scrotum removed on Tuesday covered by Blue Cross/ Blue Shield.

I discussed my desire with my GP, he sent me to an Urologist and within 6 weeks I am on the table next week.

I’m nine months post orchiectomy and have noticed a bit of scrotum shrinkage - I was contemplating having it removed but now I think I’ll let run its course. Another reason for leaving it intact is the potential need of the tissue for a vaginoplasty.

Wonderful news, considering I have the same insurance! Did you have to obtain any further therapist letters, etc.?

No, I just mentioned to him that I am shopping for it and Dr. Arnkoff would charge 3.5k. The next day he sent me name and address of a nearby Urologist and 3 days ago I had it done.

Congratulations! How is the recovery, compared to your original orchiectomy?
