The big problem with COVID-19 is that a person who is already carrying the virus and have no symptoms yet, is already spreading that virus without knowing it. For up to 14 days. That is why chinese reaction is so drastic and that is why it is so difficult to stop spreading it.
My biggest concern is that in western countries it would be not possible to close down whole cities if virus starts to spread, and then it becomes unstoppable. But by now it does not seem to be too dangerous yet.

As a Chinese eunuch, I have a lot of feelings,Most people have been given a long vacation since the Spring Festival. But we can't go out, we have to stay at home. Most stay-at-home people can go to the supermarket to buy supplies in three days.Although I am not in Wuhan, but feel that the epidemic is gradually spreading to their side. The outbreak is really dangerous and highly contagious..

I have no wisdom to offer but recall a South Park episode dealing with the cure for SARS. Campbells soup, Seven Up and Nyquil as I recall.
What I do know however is that the news media thrives off the "Chicken Little sky is falling" stories. That said, I will avoid travel to China and no longer drink that Mexican beer (just being double cautious).

I challenge anyone who thinks this is overhyped to schedule a vacation in Hubei Province this spring.
I'm not sure it's over-hyped LT, I just wondered how likely it was for it to become an epidemic (or pandemic?) here in the US. I'm not making plans to visit China.

We have no confirmed cases yet in New Zealand, but our economy is heavily reliant on China, with exporters, tourism, and the education sector all badly impacted. I am moved by the suffering of the Chinese people and hope for success in containing this awful epidemic. My thoughts are with you.

This point piqued my curiosity. Could you develop it a bit more, in another thread if you feel you would be hijacking.
Thanks for your post.

I was thinking it was time to get out some Gun Oil brand lube lol.
Honestly, I think the crisis of the day excuse for miserable news coverage makes figuring out what is dangerous and what is not into a personal choice. We can hardly get any news coverage in the USA of major foreign events. But they force feed us pointless tripe and childishly obvious propaganda daily. When a disaster does come, the news will probably take bribes to deny it occurred.
