It is interesting how we become dependant on sex hormones. Children somehow can do without and they don't complain about tiredness, low energy, brain fog, nightsweats etc. I wonder why is that?
I think it is just a matter of weathering the storm for an extended period of time. After all women after going thru menopause eventually stop having hot flashes. It just takes a few years for their body to adjust to not having estrogen. It is probably the same with eunuch's bodies having to adapt to not having testosterone. Similar parallel. Children don't really develop testosterone or estrogen until puberty so no bodily adjustment is required. Your body simply needs to go backwards and readjust back to a pre-puberty
mode.

That's kind of where I'm at right now. Started with 2mg of Estrofem and while I felt great, it didn't take long for the gynecomastia to start showing up. So I dropped to the 1mg size and have since been working my way to longer times between doses.
Don't forget that taking E is helpful in preventing Osteoporosis, men can get that too.
Yeah I forgot to mention that estrogen does help prevent loss of bone mass also.

I've been on 4 mg E for about two years at this point and would say that my libido is very low but not entirely gone. I've tried going with a lower dose but I found that the 4 mg feels right - I have energy, mental alertness, and less depression than with lower doses.
Sounds like you have achieved that happy medium. Congrats.

Does the Libido diminish on low dose E or is it still there?
Inquiring minds want to know, going to try to get off TRT and go to low dose Estradiol. Endo appt next month, gathering information
It certainly decreased with me. It's gone. I've been on Estradiol for over 9 months, initially 1 mg/day, now 2.

I'm on estradiol patches, two of the 0.1mg/day dose. My libido is non-existent, sex is as interesting as mowing the lawn. No erections. No desire for anything sexual whatsoever, in any way. And I'm very pleased, since that's been my goal. My target state is asexual eunuch with good energy, mood, memory, and so on. I'm loving it.
I myself am asexual in addition to being a eunuch so I can really relate to you. Very happy you have achieved your goal and are happy and content.

I'm going to ask for 1mg Estradiol.
I cut my TRT in half, got some OTC plant based Estradiol (.25mg), I apply that twice a day and am liking the balance, but I will wait to see the endo before anything further.
THanks all! Sounds like Low dose E will be better to control the libido.

I stopped my testosterone 4 weeks ago Tuesday. I was on another site chatting with someone and all I want is the lowest dose estradiol I need to stay healthy. He's castrated for prostate cancer his Doctor has him on the patch .250 or .5 ng/dl slow release and changes it every 3.5 days. I'm calling my endocrinologist tomorrow and requesting it. He's an ass so I'm probably going to have to fight with him about it. Regular testosterone isn't working for me it's made me depressed and frustrated sexually by giving me a high libido and no way of taking care of it. Chesleyt

No, you tell the endocrinologist what your plans are and let them decide. I got mine on informed consent, so I had a chat with my endo about what I wanted, health effects, etc. He then gave me my prescription.

This is a really good approach. We're the customer and if the endocrinologist hasn't experienced life without T and with added E, then he doesn't have a basis to judge the value of it for you. He can make a decision and so can you. My, I'm sounding militant aren't I.

I have no sex drive at all, happily. The combination of estradiol and progesterone has suppressed what little T my testicles were making, so I'm now in the castrate range. Couldn't be happier and never felt better.
