I went to a urologist in November seeking urolift for enlarged prostate, he gave me Tamsulosin. I took it for a month and quit because of headaches and unstable blood pressure. I have started Pygeum twice a day for a week. Down to once a night going to bathroom instead of 3 or 4 times a night, and only wet my pants once since starting Pygeum instead of 2 or 3 times a week.

I have an appointment next Wedesday with the urologist for cystoscpy. I have had friends who have had RESUM, steam ablation of the prostate that only gave relief for a year, he looked like hell for a week, and wore a catheter for two weeks. His insurance will not cover Urolift.

TURP is one option and PAE (Prostatic Artery Embolism) is another and if Pygeum keeps workin that might be the best.

I also have BPH and was prescribed Dutasteride and Tamsulosin. I was on them for about 2 years;, when I also started Estradiol, which I've been on for almost 9 months.

I tried finastride and dutastride and all my muscles tightened up causing migraines back and leg pain. I've been on tamsulosin for a year and it's stopped working for me. I had a urolift done 2 years ago and it has failed I'm now going to have a button turp done to remove over half of my prostate on the 30th that should work for a while until it grows back which my urologist told me will happen. He told me Ronald Reagan had it done 3 times in his life.

In November I went to a urologist because he advertised UrOlift. He gave me Tamsulosin, it caused extremely sharp headaches. I took Tamsulosin for over a month and switched to Pygeum and so far it has worked better than Tamsulosin.

I have a cystoscpy scheduled for January 15. Monday had my physical PSA was 2.1 up from 1.7 ten years ago.

My options are:

PAE ( PROSTATIC ARTERY EMBOLISM )Told it's done in radiology under general anesthesia. But painless afterwards.

TURP or RESUM, They require a catheter for a couple weeks.

UROLIFT stings when you urinate, sometimes for weeks, but no catheter. Not always covered by insurance.

Green Light Lazer, no catheter but sometimes bleeds.

Pygeum if it keeps working without side effects.

I had the urolift done 3 years ago and it has failed I was off medications for 1 1/2 years and had to start them again now they don't work anymore and they have tried all nonsurgical methods so I'm having a button turp done January 30th I should have just went with that in the first place. The button turp should last 10 to 15 years before it needs redone. I did have a catheter for a week after the urolift. The turp only needs a catheter for 1 or 2 days just until the urine has no blood showing I was told. And the hospital stay is usually 1 or 2 days. The doctor told me I should only be there one day and go home without any catheter.

I've not had any bad side effects.

A friend of mine that I talked with this morning said he was talking Cialis for his nocturia every other day. Since it's now covered by insurance. This may be another option for me, I'll ask my. Urologist.

I take cialis 5 mg every day and it hasn't helped me with my nocturia.

Cystoscpy was today along with ultrasound, Friday the 24th next appointment. Burns to urinate.

The burning will get better in a couple of days drink lots of water this dilutes your urine so it's not as strong so it doesn't burn as much. I've had many cystoscopies done and this has helped me. Good luck and I hope that you will be feeling well soon.
