As an old guy (yes, I am) I like to say that I like music, nearly all music, from Grand Funk to Grand Opera. What I like at the moment depends on my mood. --FLO--

Meat Loaf. If you don't like Meat Loaf, specifically, "Bat Out of Hell" 1977 you are mentally ill in a huge way. Just kidding!

The Eagles, Hotel California

Fleetwood Mac, Rumors

Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon

The Moody Blues, Days of Future Passed

Now, if you want a real musical education, talk to Talula. He is the Guru!

I’m on a Hank 3 kick right now ....

I didn’t see any original Aerosmith listed. Marshal Tucker Band, Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard, Allman Brothers, Van Morrison, David Bowie, Kris Kristoferson, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Wammy Tynette, Kitty Wells, The Carter Sisters, The Osborne Brothers ....

Thx @Uncle-Flo, @Paolo and @Stevenator! A lot of great music in your lists!! I'm building a great iTunes playlist now with all these suggestions. Sounds like a 1970's radio, but it's all gold. Music seemed to have better rhythm back then and probably a lot more "staying power" / memorable than today's music will be in 50 years.

Saw Zappa in concert at the NEC. Awesome. Shake Yabooty, great album. Did anyone mention early scare stuff? Madness, selector, The Beat? Squeeze was also another awesome band. This is a great thread with some great albums mentioned.

No one likes Boston?! They've got some great songs! Anyone seen them in concert back in the day?

Thanks @Cseriess, glad you're enjoying the thread!!

A few other suggestions: Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band "Nine Tonight," George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers "The Baddest of George Thorogood" (He puts on an amazing show. Seen him 5 or 6 times and he can still rock after all these years!). For something more mellow, try Marc Cohn's self titled album and Rusted Root "When I Woke." Another recommendation is Blues Traveller "Four."

That is a really long list. There are things like Simon & Garfunkle, Cat Stevens, Lovin' Spoonful, Cream, Credence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and many, many more.

Since you mentioned Fleetwood Mac, here's a classic

Gold Dust Woman (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFUAI_tzfgU)

Also, disco was great for testing sound systems. (Turn the volume up for this one)
