I believe in everybody getting vaccines look at polio and a couple years ago measles was on the way out until the ant vaccine idiots made it come back.
I'm old enough to remember when TB and polio were big scares and I got the vaccines for them when I was young. There was one older kid in my school who had to use a wheel chair because of polio. Back then, they had these machines called "iron lungs (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_lung)" to help those with polio breath.
I've also never had a bad reaction to a vaccine, just a sore arm.

Day 2 of the vaccine had me in bed shaking with flu symptoms.
Joints hurt for several weeks.
But GOD ALMIGHTY I saw a coworker go through shingles and I *NEVER* want that!!!
No matter what symptoms, they are less severe than shingles can be.
I'm a bit tipsy tonight, sitting here in a skirt enjoying your company

I saw a mountain lion on Tumblr taking a bath once.
He was rescued from the CA fires as a kitten, hurt pretty bad, and couldn't be returned to the wild, though. As I recall, he was just weaned when they found him (her?). Somehow, I don't think Cartman from 'South Park' would be hitting this cat with a stick and saying "bad kitty!"
As far as vaccinations, in all seriousness, they can sometimes - and rarely - react in serious ways to some people. Hence the warning at the end of the ads (or the fine print) where they start rattling off the possible side effects like they're selling a used car! I've known of three (3) instances here, in a town of less than 8k people, where a vaccination had an adverse effect on someone. One of them did indeed die of one of the side effects - one person out of about 200 at a local factory, where the flu shot was mandatory. Had 2 friends get the flu shot as well, and they both ended up sicker than proverbial dogs for a month or so.
Right now, pneumonia of some genre is running amok here, with a good chunk of the kids out sick from school with it. Not the flu - it's pneumonia first, and then the other 'good' stuff. Strange. Even got a sound bite on the local news from the 'big' town over where the TV station is! Now that's saying something here!
Seriously, though - if vaccines were causing autism and such en masse, then there'd be no way to cover it up. 1 out of ... 1,000? More? Maybe. It's all down to body chemistry. YMMV, as we say, is an often overlooked and underestimated statement. I have no doubt that TopManFL was ill for a long time, while most other people likely weren't.
Personally, I do not get flu shots, tetanus shots, or any other preventative care. But I am an adult. My dogs get their shots. If I had kids, they'd get shots. I would not be an anti-vax parent, even though I have come to the conclusion that the flu shot is a money-making scam; but that's just me. Seems that every season, we get a news story here where they're saying that it isn't effective, then in the same breath, saying to make sure to get the shot. Wait, what?
Again, the whole YMMV phrase shouldn't be taken lightly. Yes, you can be the oddball and suffer dire consequences. But I'd say the odds of that are pretty low!

Thanks everyone for your input on your Shingrix experience.
As many others said, I've had the shingles once and would never want that again. So, even if the muscles and joints had lasted twice as long, I'd have been OK with it.
I had previously mentioned that my tdap was out of date. I received that last week and had only a mild fever that night and a sore arm for a few days.
We have a new baby coming into our family soon and I wanted to make sure the Whooping Cough part of that vaccine was up to date.
As a general reminder to all members of all ages, it's a very good idea to check with your doctor and at the CDC's website for the list of vaccines you should be current with.
HepA, HepB and HPV are something those in their 20s and 30s might have missed and should look into.
The HPV vaccine is for the virus that causes oral, anal and cervical cancer (and maybe prostate cancer). Previously it had been recommended for only girls between the ages of 12 to 20, then boys were added and now HPV vaccine is recommended into the mide 20's.

That MMR vaccines cause autism claim is a scam. It started with some parents who wanted someone to blame for their kid's autism. They hired a lawyer who hired a doctor to "prove" it. That doctor's "study" has been discredited and his license revolked. The medical journal that published it has apologized. The MMR vaccine may cause adverse reactions in some cases, but autism isn't one of them. On the other hand, measles can kill.

Don't have that vaccines yet but I am thinking of have it injected as I have shingles 3 times within 10 years. Provided that I am under 40 and normal immune system .
Asked my family doctor, and he said that the vaccines available on market are the same, and research found that only effective for 5 years. I am still searching if it is true...
The mechanism of this vaccine is providing live virus of VZV to trigger immune system to produce antibody...
So, you might need to have vaccined a few years later...

One does not have to forgo a vaccine after age 40. I get two shots every 5 years. I am 65. The vaccine is strongly encouraged for many.
