I've been to the beach a lot lately and one worry I had was flesh eating virus like they keep reporting at South Florida beaches. I'm in Charleston which is several hundred miles away. Still, all I could think was how ironic after all the crap I've posted to EA that I would become national news with "21-year-old man loses penis to flesh eating virus." Not really how I want to be known for or remembered by my exes.

Thanks for all the input, except the penis cancer comment. I'm just glad he's all back to normal today.

Rog,

Glad you are back to normal. I know you don't normally put Willy Wonka into the chocolate factory but, I'm still thinking an appointment with a doc for routine blood work and an STD checkup would be a very good idea.

I know, I know 21-year-old men are immortal and never need to see a doctor. However, some STDs (which can be cured really easily), can appear, retreat, appear again and then show up years later. I simple blood test can tell the doctor if a simple injection in your butt cheek is required.

Also, on your checkup list should be vaccine boosters:

- Hep A Vaccine

- Hep B Vaccine

- HPV Vaccine (they are now recommending it much later in life than before - plus, it doesn't hurt to get a booster even if you've already had it)

- MMR (at your age, you are most likely already documented. Still, getting the booster won't hurt. With outbreaks around the country a booster is a good idea)

- Flu (it's too early just now. By the time the doc sees you, the 2019 season flu shots will be in)

- Shingles or Chickenpox (it's the same vaccine.)

- A Hep C Test. There is no vaccine for Hep C. There is a cure for it. So, getting tested makes sense

- A full STD workup. Yeah, yeah. I know you have a 99.9% "no glove no love" policy on condom use but, still, it doesn't hurt to get the tests as long as they are drawing blood anyway.

Many primary care doctors are not stocking vaccines any longer because they are so easy to get at Walgreens or CVS. Sill, the doctor can recommend which you should get.

Believe it or not, at 21, you still need your last physical from your pediatrician. Of course, most men don't do the annual checkups with the pediatrician after they turn 18 but, most pediatricians want an annual checkup until age 21 and then they hand you over to an adult primary care doctor.

Little-dick, big-dick, shaved or trimmed pubes, circumcised or uncircumcised, fit or never seen the inside of the gym - none of that matters. To a doctor, it's just another physical and they won't remember any of that as soon as they wash their hands and go into the next exam room.

Rog, you deserve to feel 100% sure that this was nothing. If it turns out to have been nothing, the worst that comes of it is you get a baseline on your bloodwork for the next exam. If it turns out to still be hiding in your blood - there's a cure for it.

The doctor isn't going to want to cut your randy righteous rigging off, he'll just want to make it safe.

All gone. And I was going to suggest it might be lipstick from a forgotten night out. --FLO--

That reminds me of a TV show about 10 years ago. The show was called "Huff" and it was about a psychiatrist and his crazy ass family and friends.

The son was a shy sort of guy and the parents found out he'd been to a "Rainbow" party. So, his mom and dad tried to figure out how to tell him they knew he was gay and that they were cool with it. When they started the conversation things got really strange. The kid denied being gay but, he admitted going to the party. So, the parents just figured he was supporting his gay friends. Awkwardly, he told them there weren't any gay people at the party. He was embarrassed not because of what the party was but, because of how poorly he'd done. At the party, every girl wore a different color lipstick and the goal for the guys was to get as many colors of lipstick on their willy as possible. It was a "Rain-blow" party and their son was only ashamed that he'd gotten only one color of lipstick on his cock.

The Chesapeake Bay area has had bad red tide and flesh eating bacteria for years. One woman ended up needing to get whole limbs amputated to stop a flesh eating bacteria she got from a cut while in an inland river near Atlanta, Georgia. So, you have to be careful of what might be in the water everywhere now, including pools and especially hot tubs.

Since rogerwpbfl is an avid swimmer and beach goer, he needs to be especially careful of what he might get from water.

As a Floridian, he already knows about sea lice, really a mix of different tiny embyonic sea life that can burrow into your skin and cause irritations and rashes with itching. Those beach showers can rid you of these with strong bar soap use and being sure you pull your swim trunks away to wash and rinse off every part of your body thoroughly after every swim. You don t have to strip off in public. Just wash with soap and rinse off everywhere under your clothes to get rid of the tiny sea life that can cause irritations. And try to get your swim trunks soaped and rinsed off to rid them of sea life too.

As a sexually active man, any man seeing anything wrong with his sex organs or his body shouldn t be at all embarrassed to go see a dr or go to your local county health department low cost clinic specializing in sexually transmitted diseases.

I ve been lectured on the obvious dangers of wild group sex adventures by STD drs and asked if I was raped, on drugs, or drunk when I had group sex ? I got a " you re crazy " attitude from drs and nurses during my treatment for openly enjoying wild group sex and then getting STDs from it. But drs know what our extra strong male sex drives can encourage us to do in the heat of sex.

You might get some lectures and attitude for enjoying your own sexual favorites. But getting cured of whatever ails you is what counts the most. A little embarrassment is nothing to stay healthy and still get to enjoy your favorite sex fun.

Drs do see and hear everything and don t get upset. I had a wild weekend of group sex in one big city. Got an STD from it. Then drove into a different big city, stripped down in the early morning to wash up in a river flowing through town in a city park. Then went to a walk in county STD clinic to get treated. My dr thought I was the dumbest horny hick that ever walked on two legs ! But I got treated and cured which is what mattered the most. The dr was actually pretty sympathetic after treating me. Well worth it to get cured. And the dr had a lot of respect for me being so honest and seeking fast treatment to get cured, answer all questions totally and honestly, and making sure I wasn t passing on any STDs to anyone else. My follow up visit, the clinic staff kidded me for my sex adventures, but treated me really well and kindly.
