Edition #4: The “Psalm 121: I will lift up mine eyes to the hills”

There was time when families trekked to the grave in any weather, mud, or snow, or whatever weather to pray and sing as the coffin was lowered into the ground. Pennsylvania requires a concrete vault. So the ground around the gravesite was covered with plywood and tarpaulins that formed an opening and hid the vault that was six feet underground.

One of the women of the group was walking to the grave with her thoughts on the deceased.

The undertaker grabbed her one step away from falling into the open grave.

Edition #5: - - so, so cringeworthy

I was conceived at a funeral.

"I was at my then-boyfriend's friend's funeral. Her aunt sat with me at the back and told me that she spontaneously lubricates at funerals. I scooched away reeeeaaalll quick."

{that was way to much information}

My sister at a funeral of an long time friend of our family asked if they would mind if she took a plate of the food brought for the deceased family and their guests to her boyfriend (they were stunned that anyone would ask such at thing at the funeral home). That was awful enough but they my sister proceeded to take food from each of the five refrigerators, four of which were for the other families having funerals at the same time.
