Re: Androcur castration
So reading some literature provided by a gp, my understanding is that there is no real need to take a T blocker, like androcur, if you are taking estrogen. Estrogen stops the production of testosterone, so there really isn't much worth blocking. I have a video appointment with a Dr in a couple of weeks an this literature was part of the required reading.

Estrogen is good for feminization but there are folks who don´t want feminization. And I think that estrogen only in high dosage supress T efficiently.

So is feminization a guaranteed? I read the effects of estrogen get less as you get older. I am hoping this appointment will help with a safe and sensible way to reduce my T until I finally get surgically castrated.

Depends on how your body asimilates the estrogen I have older friends who started over 45 and achieved impressive feminisation, well breast growing is almost sure to happen

Well... It's been a while since I've been around here, and I've been on quite a journey!
I'm now only on oestrogen, injecting 7mg Estradiol Valerate once every five days which is very roughly the equivalent of taking 20mg EV orally every day due to much higher absorption rates when injected, and my testosterone is fully suppressed without a blocker like Androcur.
Even at 49 I'm now achieving impressive feminisation. It may be about time I updated my profile pic to one of myself - though I'll need to get a decent picture as Frida has set the bar rather high!
That said I found that at my oestrogen starting dose of 2mg oral Estrofem daily this was enough to reduce the side effects of having low testosterone, without much (if anything) in the way of feminisation. At this dosage I still needed to take Androcur to suppress my T, but was down to just 12.5mg daily.

I'm almost 70 and estradiol and progesterone worked wonders. I love having real breasts. And I don't miss erections and sex at all. Much happier now. Mental function is better than ever on estradiol/progesterone. T is down to ~150 ng/dl with no hormones after CaCl2 injections. The T level is probably enough to prevent bone loss, but my Dr. is monitoring.

It works at 150 but lower would probably be better. 50-75 might be optimal, especially since I'd like to keep breast development going!
