There is some Freudian implications to having slice-and-dice-my-cock images on your lap. I mean laptop.

I really don't care. I enjoy the sight of a titty, nipple and Vagoo. When I found out the purge of all adult material, I purged Tumblr from having my account. I won't be back so long as that is their policy. Eff-em.

Sadly, since it's instant gratification these days, nobody wants to wait for their profile to be reviewed and activated on a smaller site, they just want to open their account and start fapping. I'm fine with the fapping, I simply expected a filled out profile in exchange, apparently that was too much to ask. People just wanted to take, and not contribute in return.

Not trying to tell you how to run things, but if instant gratification is a market force why not charge a nominal initial fee for folks who want instant access (up to you if you want to make the fee recurring or not)? I've been a member here for two years now, and there is a TON of "premium" content available for free. Please, EA purists, don't come after me with your pitchforks and elastricators in hand, I'm not saying you should start charging all member (i.e.: me and other current members). Rather, offer upfront on the registration page that a verification process is required which will delay entry; otherwise, a one-time credit card authorization for $25 will verify and provide 3-month, 1-year or lifetime access for your new account with access granted immediately.

I realize this is completely foreign to what EA has always done. I get that. Also, I don't think this will become a profit engine that will finance travel expenses to the next MOM event. But, it may generate a few bucks each month to go toward utilities, server maintenance and upgrades, and some minor compensation for the admins' time running this incredible platform.

Certainly not telling you what to do. Just offering some fat for you to chew on.

Well, I've renounced being on Tumblr until they change their minds, or until they go out of business. Whoever made the decision to remove creative freedom on Tumblr should be ashamed of themselves. They say that they respect us, but I think that's the biggest lie I've ever heard. I hope they regret making that decision, because THEY ARE DEAD TO ME.

What is hilarious now is all the posting of breasts at Tumblr.

It seems that the algorithm that is supposed to find porn can't tell the difference between sand dunes, a guy with a shaved head holding a baby, and Jesus Christ in a Renaissance painting. No kidding. Go look if you still have an account.

Posts now have a big red bar across the top of the post telling you that the image was flagged.

I've also seen a hand drawn cartoon of Jon Kent-Superboy flagged. It was rated G. What the hell? Look up "otter the author". He really does good work/commissions. His short stories are better than the printed stuff.

But a few blogs that I keep an eye on are still there and not flagged. One notorious poster of CP who changes his ID regularly in a pattern is still there. He's quite predictable; too predictable for the bot, I guess?

LT has it right. If it comes down to it, I'll miss it - but - they deserve what they get. After all, the users are the product for their data mining and ad targets, and without users, there's not much point.

And yet the pornbots and spambots still run amok.

Mostly it's my awareness it is an adult site and it needs to be moderated in case the so-called moral majority comes knocking. It also keeps the passive onlooker from just wandering across things then complaining the instant they see a penis, that I'm ruining society and am the cause of the downfall of modern civilization, all while they're getting fucked up the ass by their pastor as they write the complaint.

Unfortunately all the folks who are lamenting the loss of Tumblr adult content will just continue with their woe is me line, wait for Tumblr to shut off the adult content stream, then run off to another quick and easy fix which will get turned off at some point. I'm getting too tired to say, "I told you so..." since this is like the 7th or 8th time I've seen this happen with commercial sites.

I would think easy access to porn very likely reduces sexual crimes since porn can be substituted for the real thing as far less effort and hassle or complications involved than having sex with another person. The most sexually repressed cultures seem to have way more incidents of forced sex than cultures where sex is easily available.

Puritanical suppression of human sexuality is more about depriving people of all sexual pleasure than it is about preventing sex crimes. Suppression is far more llikely to lead to desparate acts to get any sex, than to change human sexual nature and desires.

Anyone claiming they are saving kids, women, whatever other false claimed causes, is lying. Denying people access to porn never made anyone safer.
