Re: Androcur
I reacted to the combination of polyvidone and magnesium stearate. Had a similar reaction to an over te counter drug that has the same additional ingredients. Allthough in that case not as severe.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know. I stopped taking Androcur after three months because the shortness of breath never went away. It did resolve a week after stopping and I feel fine now. It has now been 3 1/2 weeks since stopping and the effects of Androcur haven't changed much since then. My shrunken testicles haven't started recovering as yet, so I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky guys for whom the effects of Androcur don't recover completely. I've been able to do some pretty vigorous yard work in the past few days with no problem breathing. Still no libido and would be happy if it never returns.

This is to increase the size of the pill, in that the medication is strong enough to the point that the tablet would be so small that one couldn't deal with it. The company Noritsu-Koki (a Japanese maker of photo printing machines) has also diversified into pharmacy equipment, and their repair tech tells me the same thing. Pills have to be a certain size, or you simply can't make a machine to count and sort them. Also, with all the inert coating and tablet-body exterior, medications do not contaminate the machines with anything other than "filler". I guess there's a lot more to making a pill than we thought?
One other reason they are a bit bigger; if you look at most, especially the prescription stuff, the pills have varying markings which helps identify the pill for EMS and such personnel.

I also had to stop because of the shortness of breath. I started getting erections and sexual desire back after about 3 weeks.

Re: Androcur
I guess it's very much as case of YRMV. I've been on 100mg daily for 3 months now and I only get out of breath if I'm doing brisk or uphill walking. Thankfully that's manageable for me.

I'm also starting to get my libido back after a little more than a month, but very slowly. Body hair hasn't started growing faster. I really, really like being almost completely hair-free.
