Windows 10 is not an operating system. Windows 10 is tracking device, with operating system functions.

PS. Because generally M$ tends to rise system requirements for the the OS with every release. Because for newer hardware there tends to be no drivers for the older OS. (and for older - no drivers for newer OS). Because there were really no serious improvements/changes in the OS itself since transition XP -> Vista/W7.

MS has been collecting data for a few os's, you can get software designed to block MS built in tracking software which takes care of the problem. Your'e a fool if you believe Apple isn't doing the same thing. Where there is a dollar to be made, any big corporation is going after it.

Who said I am using Apple or M$ products?

My home is certifiably Apple and M$ free

PS. That software runs on top of windows kernel - you do not know if it blocks everything or not.

The various operating systems are probably each as bad as one another. Beyond keeping things up to date, clearing the cookies occasionally, and running antivirus software I really can’t be bothered to worry about who’s tracking or spying on me.

Every computer I’ve ever owned has stuffed up at one time or another. Last year my MacBook fell flat on its face when upgrading to High Sierra, taking me several days to get it up and running again as it wouldn’t re-download the software or restore from backup. In the end I was able to reinstall an earlier version of os x from a usb drive, and restore my files from iCloud.

A few months later I tried upgrading it again, and everything went smoothly. So I’ve no idea what went wrong the first time.

Anyone for Linux ?:D

Me. I am, trying to get Skywave linux to install itself over a copy of Mint 17, but there is no clear setup file to click on to get it to go.

Would this be a bad time to mention the Spring 2018 major update will be coming out this month?
