Luvpain and IEunuch,

I agree with this new rule. Although I tend to let users stay on longer than the 30 minutes you have suggested. I have given up to an hour before questioning it.

When someone does not respond to an OP, I think they are lurking or have left their computer on and gone away. If an OP asks a question to the user, and the user does not respond, a kick is in order after the given time. It's not like they can't log back on again.

However, my preference is to see everybody chat in the main room so that everybody benefits from the conversation.

In many chat topics, some users do not join in or reply, and that is fine. Not everyone has something to say on the current topics and should not be required to do so.

Hmmmmm . . . Just as an aside, since I doubt seriously if I will be found in the chat here anyway, even though I have been in other chat's for years.

The reason for not flogging the chat button is not the chat rules, or that I wouldn't speak unless spoken to (pretty much how I behaved the few times I did drop in), but primarily because I doubt that I would have much to say since there seems to be a lack of common interests (at least judging by what I've seen).

Nothing wrong with the chat, and nothing wrong with the rules that I can see. The "time limit" should be posted, though.

I for one am in favor of the new rule for yet another reason.

This is an adult site with sensitive information being passed. If you are not known to the ops, never say anything, 30 minutes may not only be long enough but maybe to long. If an op asks a question and dose not get a response it doesn’t matter if its 30 minutes or 10 kick them out. They can always come back in and next time may say something.

I realize that a few years ago coming into the chat was terrible everybody was in a private chat, you would say hello and get no response, today it is more open and I think a lot better. This new 30 minute idle rule is a good one.
