Thank you for posting the story so quickly Belle. After so many years away it feels great to return to San Carlos Island. It was I who wrote the original Sander stories. But now, with a bit more maturity, I feel I can better handle the San Carlos "Universe". I think the island needs a mixture of "boys" some of whom are innocent like Sander and some who are just a bit more street smart as is Seth. But since the "boys" are said to be selected for their social skills as much as for their beauty they should all be very articulate. The idea I want to explore is that a "San Carlos Boy" isn't just your average kid off the street. I'd also like to explore the motives of the San Carlos fathers, the men who sold their own sons. What do you suppose is going through their heads?

I certainly didn't know you wrote the original San Carlos Island stories, which are a Eunuch.org classic. I've written several versions of the story myself. Since you are claiming ownership of that series, are you still giving others permission to write their own versions of it?

San Carlos Island is my favorite saga. Usually I don't like story where the main character is aware about what's going on, and above all is willing to be fixed, but this time I really enjoyed the dad/son dialogue

Sweet words for any writer. I understand what you're saying about the main character being aware about what's going on. There's more of a shock value for someone like Sander who discovers his fate along the way as opposed to a boy like Seth who has a pretty general idea of what to expect.

However being an "island boy" might not be exactly as Seth had imagined and there are surprises in store for him. I think the island needs a mixture of boys to work. Some rich other poor, some lonely other popular at home, some very innocent and others more worldly. Their reasons for signing on should very as well. One boy might do it for the money, another might do it to escape an unhappy home. Another boy might come to San Carlos for adventure. I'd like to write about a boy who signs on with Ben in order to gain experience and understanding so that he might become a master himself when he grows up.

In any case Part 2 has just been submitted. I hope you enjoy it.
