Success, 5 posts did it !! I finally got a private message thru to MRPdiesel. Thanks MRPdiesel for the 5 posts to make this work.

Since I never had a testicle cut off me, any men who did can tell MRPdiesel how it felt, healing time, life with one ball afterward, other people s reactions, hormones, and how it affected or changed you and your body and sex life way better than me. I know more of what drs say about it and my online research results to pass on here. Other men and eunuchs are the experts on getting cut.

I have a really good friend who had testicular cancer and one was removed and everything for him was normal as far as T and fathered a child afterwards. I know another guy who lost one to injury when a teen and is married with kids. When I only had one though damaged we joked about starting a one ball club though now I wouldn't fit as not having any now. With one everything should be pretty normal.

Just look up websites about men with testicular cancer and read their real life experiences during and after one nut removals since most men lose only one testicle to cancer. Most men with one healthy testicle can function fully or close to what they could when they had 2 testicles. Just be aware that whatever caused one testicle to get so painful, likely from your vasectomy or some injury, might cause your second ball to do the same in the future.

Would be interested to know more about after effects of having just the epididymitis removed e.g. sexual function, appearance?

All sexual function and appearance stayed the same as in fully functional.

Thanks, was just interested. If you have read my recent post, I am due for an ultrasound soon, I have discovered a hard 'nodule' on the underside of my right testicle, with noticeable pain. Not sure if it's cancer, but it could be. I have read that some guys have lower testosterone with just one ball, but this isn't common.

Well I'm due to have mine right testicle removed in October. Hoping it will end the daily pain I'm still having.

I had the left one removed last week. I had been experiencing significant amounts of pain since my early 20s, mostly localised to the left side. We tried a multitude of treatments (antibiotics, nerve blocks, nerve damage medication) to no avail. I had probably about 4 or 5 ultrasounds done, and there were no signs of cancer, just "congestion" which was said to alleviate itself after a day or two. Ice and Advil did nothing except make my penis shrink and give me a stomach ache. Multiple cultures were done (both from the prostrate and semen cultures) and didn't turn up anything worth noting. More antibiotics after each of those. My urologist suggested trying a denervation before moving onward, but from what I had read those were basically like being castrated, with the potential of more pain, or horrible numbness. The doctor was concerned about fertility, I don't want children. The problem was the worst when I had an erection, the pain could easily shoot up to a 8-9 and almost make me want to pass out.

My doctor referred me to a surgeon, and we began the process of determining what was next. Had to visit two different psychologists twice each so they could make sure I knew what was going on and wasn't "faking it." And then schedule the time for the actual procedure. I had two nerve blocks done, one in the scrotum and a second in the "crease" of the leg to help the surgeon determine where to go to remove it, his preference was to cause as little damage as possible. Fortunately, I guess, the lower block was just as effective in alleviating the pain as the upper one, so he went in through the scrotum to remove it. He also recommended having a circumcision done at the same time, as it was in the same area was not a difficult procedure. I wasn't having any problems with my foreskin, but I figured I might as well have it done at the same time, one less thing to have to worry about in the future.

Day of the surgery came, my partner and I went to the hospital together. They did their whole pre-surgery explanation of things. Hooked me up to IVs, the surgeon came in to the pre-op room, explained everything that was going to be done and confirmed what we were going to do. Had me sign things again, and then confirmed it again. They wheeled me into the operating room, had me tell them what was going to happen. And started with a local anaesthesia in my scrotum, testicle, and penis before knocking me out. It felt like I woke up and they hadn't done anything, except I was in a different room, I felt sore, but I didn't hurt. Apparently the doctor came into the room with two jars, one had the testicle, the other my foreskin.

The worst of the pain honestly has been from the circumcision. The near pass out pain from the testicle has stopped, and there's a bit of an ache from the cords, but it has been lessening each day. The first stitches have started to fall out of the scrotum and penis, and all should be out by the end of next week. Enough for a gentle test drive of things. I'm not sure what I would have done had they not been willing to move forward with the partial orchiectomy, I was barely functional. The medication, especially the gabapentin, made me feel like absolute crap and did nothing in terms of pain control. I feel like I've got my life back.
