I had zero effects on sexual function by Finasteride.

I am on finasteride 5 mg. DHT deprivation apparently is some powerful stuff.... on the second day I am only able to get a weak semi. It is not mental as I am not anxious about it, just intrigued. Balls still moving around but slightly aching a bit. Call me a liar if you want, this is a strong drug. I guess this is a YMWV situation.

Well, I have to admit I don't have the best testosterone level anyway... I have never had a very strong drive, really. One of the lobes of my pituitary is dead. Doc never could tell me why it was dead or what happened. May be in my head, but I don't think so.... Usually I can a stiffee on command.... no go today. Jorge2008, what strength did you take?

I really don't remember, as it was years ago, but it was officially prescribed by a doctor.

Well, I might have been a little hasty as to my status. Labored, I am able to get it up. I have to be patient and let the medicine do its thing.

So, I have continued to read just about every forum out there, I think, concerning finasteride again. Really, there is not a month by month on finasteride 5 mg. I hope to keep the updating about the timeline of symptoms. My hopes are somewhat more realistic now. Just got excited.

It has been a week and a day, nothing really to report. I have began taking Tamoxifen in an attempt to stifle gynecomastia. Has anyone on here only taken finasteride and can give me effects in an approximate timeline? As I have BPH and am prescribed Proscar, I am hoping to continue with updates to maybe help someone like the info here has helped me.

Still nothing to report, reallly. My drive may have dropped some. Was reading in the Prostate section of the forums and found what I was looking for about a timeline. Whoever put that up, thanks.
